Responsibilities & Context
A reputed retail (furniture, home furnishings) company, we are looking for young, enthusiastic, energetic experience in Merchandiser for Home Appliance, retail business. Who wish to take the challenge of creating a better future and lead.
1st Phase- Before Store Opening:
- Carefully curating the range of products to be stocked, considering market trends, customer preferences, and allocating budget.
- Inspecting merchandise for quality and ensuring it meets the store’s standards before displaying it.
- Determining pricing strategies, including regular pricing, discounts, and promotions, to maximize profitability while remaining competitive.
- Work closely with Interior designers for designing and arranging product displays, fixtures, and signage to create an attractive and customer-friendly store layout.
2nd Phase- After store opening:
- Merchandising strategies and management
- As a Merchandiser, you will be responsible for planning and developing effective merchandising strategies for the company.
- Analyze sales trends, conduct market research, and collaborate with suppliers, designers, and production teams to identify consumer preferences and develop strategies to meet their needs.
- Create visual displays and layouts in such a way that they are visually appealing to the customers to showcase products and enhance the customer experience. Select the appropriate products to display, design the layout of the display area, and arrange products in an appealing and organized manner.
- Conduct regular store visits to evaluate product displays and identify opportunities for improvement. This includes assessing the effectiveness of displays, monitoring sales trends, and making recommendations for changes to improve sales and profitability.
- Create strategies and innovative solutions to optimize and maximize profitability by focusing on both top line and bottom line.
Coordination:
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of products. Maintain good relationships with suppliers.
- Work closely with marketing teams to develop and execute promotional campaigns to drive sales.
- This includes collaborating on the design of promotional materials, developing promotional strategies, and monitoring the effectiveness of promotional campaigns. Maintain excellent communication skills and coordination, as you will need to work closely with suppliers, manufacturers, logistics teams, and other departments within the company to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of products.
Monitoring inventory levels:
- Forecast demand and manage stock levels at store.
- Monitor inventory levels at store locations to avoid product shortage or excess.
- Work with the logistics team to ensure the required proper distribution of products among various stores.
Analyze sales data and market trends:
- Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed decisions regarding product offerings and pricing.
- This includes analyzing sales data to identify trends, monitoring competitor activities, and making recommendations for changes to improve sales and profitability.
- Keep abreast of industry trends of industry trends and competitors’ activities to inform merchandising strategies and ensure the company remains competitive.
- This includes attending trade shows and other industry events, monitoring competitor activities, and conducting market research to identify emerging trends.
SOP and Compliance Implementation:
- Ensure SOP implementation and time to time upgradation for your department.
- Ensure now SOP processes are implemented smoothly.
- Ensure all government compliance is followed. f) Visual Merchandising.
- Design store layouts and displays, strategically arranging furniture for optimal space usage and visual appeal.
- Craft enticing displays that highlight furniture features using design principles like balance and contrast.
- Adapting to seasons and promotions, to keep displays fresh, incorporating relevant pieces. Upholding brand identity, to maintain visual consistency through proper display upkeep, lighting, and signage.
- Collaborating with marketing and sales teams, to align visuals with offers/ discounts planned.
- Sharing customer insights for informed display design and driving engagement in sales.
