Responsibilities & Context
Key Result #1:
- Clinical Care Monitor and examine women during pregnancy.
- Develop, assess, and evaluate individual programs of care.
- Provide total antenatal care, labour delivery, postnatal care, Family planning, and immunization package, including screening tests in the hospital, community, and the home.
- Identify high-risk pregnancies and make referrals to doctors and other medical specialists.
- Supervise and assist mothers in labour, monitoring the condition of the fetus and applying knowledge of drugs and pain management.
- Liaise with agencies and other health and social care professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Conduct SRH & ASRH awareness programs with participation in male engagement activities for improved community acceptability.
- Follow up with ANC and PNC patients with the Community Health program team.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control measures.Support in referring patients to Tertiary Hospitals as an escort doing immediate management in an ambulance in coordination with doctors and proper handover.
- Liaise with clinic leads and other mentors on midwives’ progress and where possible, enlist support from doctors with Obstetric experience.
Key Result #2:
- Patient EducationArrange and provide parenting and health education.
- Provide counseling and advice before and after screening and tests.
- Offer support and advice following events such as miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, neonatal abnormality, and neonatal death.
- Give support and advice on the daily care of the baby, including breastfeeding, bathing, and preparation of feedings.
- Provide FP counseling and services for the reproductive age group.
- Provide sexual and reproductive health services to youth and adolescents.
Key Result #3:
- Documentation and reporting to line supervisor.
- Ensure that data is accurately recorded in clinic registers and other data-collection methods and promptly documented and sent.
- Performing administrative duties, such as taking patient histories and registration.
- Assist reporting officer with daily/weekly/monthly SRH data report.
