  • Strong understanding of M&E methodologies, tools, and approaches.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and visualization software.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and data interpretation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with accountability and learning principles in program evaluation.
  • Experience in capacity building and training is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve project-related issues.
  • The willingness to work during flexible hours.

The major focus area of The Earth is Youth development through various engagement, skill & entrepreneurship development and engaging youth to become responsive and combat Climate Change.

Reporting Structure: The incumbent will report to the Project Coordinator.

Position Overview:

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing the monitoring and evaluation framework for the Earth programs. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to ensure the project meets its objectives and delivers measurable impacts. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in M&E, and a passion for environmental sustainability and youth empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

M&E Framework Development:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework for the Eco-Leaders program.
  • Develop indicators and tools for data collection, analysis, and reporting to track project progress and impact.
  • Develop systems to track and monitor progress against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure that the M&E framework aligns with the program’s objectives and donor requirements.

    Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Oversee regular data collection and ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to assess project performance and outcomes.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to inform program decision-making and improvement.

    Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and disseminate regular M&E reports, including mid line and final impact assessments.
  • Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories to share with stakeholders.
  • Ensure that M&E findings are effectively communicated to project partners and stakeholders.
  • Prepare regular reports on program performance, including progress, achievements, and challenges.
  • Present data and findings to internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and other tools to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of M&E processes and results.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and learning activities within the organization.
  • Assist Project Coordinator in preparing regular reports like donor reports, monthly reports, interim reports, Final reports and other reporting issues.

    Accountability and Learning:

  • Support the development and implementation of accountability mechanisms for programmes.
  • Engage with programme participants and stakeholders to gather feedback and incorporate it into program improvements.
  • Identify areas for learning and recommend adaptations or innovations based on M&E findings.
  • Support the dissemination of evaluation results and lessons learned.

    Capacity Building:

  • Train and support project staff and partners in M&E processes and tools.
  • Promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the project team.
  • Facilitate workshops and sessions on M&E best practices for youth participants and partners.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Liaise with different project partners and donors to coordinate M&E activities.
  • Collaborate with external evaluators and consultants as needed.
  • Represent the project in relevant M&E forums and networks.·
  • Any other tasks that are assigned by the supervisor.
