- Experience in academic research on gender and disability inclusion would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of national/international policies, laws on human rights, UNCRPD, humanitarian principles/CHS, gender and advocacy etc.
- Experience in working with international and national OPD platform, national and local OPDs. Women led OPDs and under representation groups, civil society organizations that work on disability and inclusion and government key policy makers.
Responsibilities & Context
Job Context: WDDF is a non-profit, voluntary organization registered with the Joint Stock Company (Registration no. S 72/16(405)/07), Date: 11 November 2007) and NGOAB (Registration No. 2911, Date: 8 January 2015). Women with Disabilities Development Foundation (WDDF) is a voluntary, non- political, non- profitable, non-governmental and women with Disabilities rights-based organization. It is a self-help organization of enhancing Women with Disabilities equal representation in the mainstream part of the society and proactive participating organization of, for and by women with Disabilities, working to actualize their aspirations and hopes for all intents and purposes to enable them to serve as self-reliant and dynamic participants in society. WDDF is run and managed by Women with Disabilities which has constitutionally been enrolling and engaging Women with Disabilities in planning, implementing and managing of its programs from grassroots to national level. WDDF is dedicated directly to work with Women with Disabilities and they are beneficiaries and owners of this organization.
WDDF is looking for a researcher to prepare A community led research documents on thematic priorities for action on SGBV and political participation of Women and Girls with disabilities.
The researcher will develop the document focusing on SGBV and political participation of women and girls with disabilities. A total number of 2500-3000 women and girls with disabilities will include directly in this research process. After the completion of the document, a dissemination workshop will conduct by the researcher. Additionally, an assistant from WDDF will support the lead researcher in this research activity for more detailing of women and girls with disabilities and other relevant activities.
Contract Duration: 15 September 2024- 15 November 2024 for 3 months.
Tasks and Deliverables:
Review the necessary related documents, Induction meeting and submission of detail workplan and inception report.

Note: The Date and timeline can be increase after discussion as per the activity requirements. Also the activities will conduct by the requirements. A representative from WDDF will actively support the lead researcher on overall activities.
Budget Breakdown will be provided by research team.
Note that, publication cost of the research 192,100 BDT (17,464 BDT vat and tax 5239 BDT is included in this amount) And 657,900 BDT is all fee and cost (including vat 85,813 BDT and tax 57,209 BDT is included in this amount)
Location: The research will be conducted at Dhaka, Bogura, Daudkandi, Khulna, Barisal, Satkhira, Dinajpur.
Job Responsibilities:
- Desk review on disabilities situation in Bangladesh and existing resource of WDDF. After the desk review an action plan has to submit.
- Develop key questions and relevant documents including consent form to conduct FGD, KII, Case study, data collection and review. The documents must be in Bangla and English both in accessible reading format.
- A representative from WDDF will support to the research team on overall activities.
- At least 2 or 3 meeting needs to be held with WDDF to identify and finalize the necessary documents and research information.
- Conduct FGD, KII, Interviews with the local and national level OPDs representatives or women and girls with disabilities. The FGD, KII, Interviews will conduct by the research team. Collect case studies and data review. The team will prepare the comprehensive analytical report. The statement of participants must be mention in the research document.
- Prepare and submit the draft research documents first incorporating feedbacks and observation from FGD, KII and interviews. After the observation from WDDF final report will be submitted. The report should have analysis of the researcher. The report will be in English in accessible format.
- Research team will be responsible to collect the certification (ISBN and copyright) of the research, Only WDDF will bear the Copyright. Research team will not use any information of this research without WDDF’s permission.
- A validation workshop will be conduct by the research team. WDDF will bear the expenses.
- The research will be published by the leadership of research team.
