  • A minimum of 4–5 years of experience working with NGOs on primary healthcare and nutrition-related projects.
  • Experience in training delivery, establishing nutritional gardens, and preparing nutritious meals for preschoolers is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to work independently in a culturally diverse and multicultural environment.

Responsibilities & Context

Context

The ASPADA Paribesh Unnayan Foundation is implementing an international exchange project titled “Health and Nutrition Initiative for Mother and Child” in partnership with organizations from India and Cambodia, with funding support from the Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation (Norec).

We are seeking a young professional with a background in nutritional or agricultural sciences to participate in this exchange program in Cambodia for a year. This collaboration focuses on sharing practices, approaches, knowledge, and attitudes to strengthen organizational capacities.

The selected candidate will work with the Cambodian partner organization, Krousar Yoeung Association (KrY), based in Phnom Penh. The incumbent will contribute by showcasing ASPADA’s approaches to ensuring nutritional security and primary healthcare practices while learning from KrY’s expertise in parenting education and early childhood development. The goal is to integrate these shared practices into the respective organizations for the benefit of their target communities.

Job description:

Participants will work closely with KrY’s staff to share knowledge and provide support in key areas such as nutritional garden initiatives, community awareness building through field visits, the establishment and technical support of nutritional gardens, and observing school breakfast preparation processes. Additionally, participants will assist KrY’s team in conducting training sessions on health-related topics for key stakeholders, supporting school health outreach programs, and facilitating community awareness activities.

Participants are expected to:

  • Share expertise on ensuring nutritional security, including nutritional garden practices adopted from ASPADA, with KrY staff.
  • Assist in modifying and updating KrY’s Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) tools, incorporating ASPADA’s practices.
  • Develop operational guidelines focusing on health and nutrition.
  • Learn from KrY’s parenting education programs and ECCD practices, including the use of pedagogical games for preschoolers.
  • This exchange aims to foster mutual learning and capacity-building between the organizations.
  • Job Nature

    Full-time (Contractual for 14 months), Service contract will be started from 01 February 2025.

  • Job Location Phnom Penh, Cambodia (12 months in Cambodia and 2 months in Dhaka/Mymensingh, Bangladesh)

  • Salary Range
  • Around 100,000-105000 BDT per month with well-furnished free accommodation in abroad.
