Education

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nutrition & Food Science / Food & Nutrition

Experience

At least 4 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Development Agency, NGO

Additional Requirements

Age At least 25 years

3 years of work experience in the Rohingya response in the CMAM program will be preferred

Written and spoken Bangla, Working knowledge of English (oral & written)

Ability to communicate in the Rohingya language (spoken Chittagong dialect)

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

GK was created in 1972 with two visions. Firstly, “the fate of the poor decides the fate of the country”. Secondly, the “development of the country depends on the development of women”. Since 2017, Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) and Donors have entered into a partnership to respond to the Rohingya crisis at Cox’s Bazar and Bhasanchar.

Job Location: Teknaf/Ukhia/Bhasanchar

Job Purpose:

The Nutrition Site Supervisor will be responsible for the implementation of the nutrition activities at the field level. She/he will supervise and monitor the field-level staff and provide guidelines for quality implementation. She/he will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the integrated nutrition facilities

Overall responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, the nutrition site supervisor will be responsible for the following main activities:

Implementation of a comprehensive community-based management of acute malnutrition program for 6-59 months children and PLW at the health facility (Measurer/Record keeper) and community level (CNVs).
Guide and monitor the overall nutrition activities of the community nutrition team (CNM and CNVs)  
Provide technical support for the nutrition team, facilitating referral service for severe/moderate acute malnutrition with/without complications
Provide technical support for IYCF-E activities (IYCF-E-Counseling, Rapid Assessments, GMP)  
Coordinate with the nutrition team in the field operations through proper management of food and non-food commodities 
Represent GK in relevant technical meetings and forums at camp level.-She/he will be responsible for proper record keeping and reporting according to his/her portfolio. Project implementation     
Ensure that nutrition measurers are implementing nutritional screening for all eligible children 06-59m and PLW at the Health post in line with the disseminated protocols and guidelines.  
Identify challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for smooth nutrition service implementation.          
Build the capacity of the health staff and Outreach team- CNM, CNVs to do nutrition activities and reporting-    
Preparation of Yearly Nutrition Message Dissemination plan (Topics, Messages, and target group)      
Before submitting the report, cross-check all the data with the health facility staff to ensure the reliability and consistency of the data      
Good communication with the clinical team in terms of problems identified or anything affecting the beneficiaries and/or the program. Assist the staff in the implementation of IYCF-E activities-       
Improve the provision of quality nutrition counseling and education at the Community level.     
Provide training on nutrition to GK staff according to the needs assessment.

Special Note:

Carry out any additional assignment per her/his position entrusted with the GK Management from time to time and mutually agreed upon.
Management may, at any point in time, modify this job description as it is deemed necessary in Gonoshasthaya Kendra’s interests in consultation with the incumbent and the Donors.
Due to the emergency response nature of GK’s work, hours of work may vary, and employees should be flexible in approaching hours of work in emergency conditions.
The employee must respect the timetable, terms, and conditions of Gonoshasthaya Kendra and should always be available to respond to an emergency.
