Requirements

Education

  • Diploma in Chemical/Environment Science/Mechanical/Electrical from any recognized Institution

Experience

  • At least 2 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    Manufacturing (FMCG), Manufacturing (Light Engineering and Heavy Industry), Chemical Industries, Cement Industry, Steel

Additional Requirements

  • Carrying out post incident analysis.
  • Sound knowledge on safety and hazard issues and knowledge of First-aid methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of documentation procedures.
  • Ability to work with MS Office, project work experience will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of good EHS practices and emergency procedure development.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Develop and Implement safety culture in all over the GPH Ispat New Plant as per standard in accordance with Bangladesh Labor Law 2006.
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) of Steel Melting and Rolling Procedure.
  • Implement Fire Safety Plan for GPH Ispat New Plant.
  • Conduct EHS Trainings for Employees and Safety Induction for New Joiners, Visitors and Contractors’ Workers.
  • Monitor Activities of Project Works, schedule maintenance and maintain Permit to Work(PTW).
  • Conduct monthly EHS Audit, Fire Mock Drill, Emergency Evacuation Mock drill and suggest control measures.
  • Investigate incident or near-misses and lead root cause analysis and Enforce safety standards and processes.
  • Create and share a formal Occupational Health and Safety Policy and drive employee engagement and meaningful involvement.
  • Perform regular patrols, inspections, evaluations, and/or walk-throughs of facilities.
  • Conduct toolbox meeting and other ongoing learning opportunities for staff.
  • Organize and maintain all safety and compliance-related forms.
  • Inform authority when needed to stop unsafe behaviors and lead the project safety council.
  • Verify, approve and submit injury logs and reports to the Government.
  • Review and approve subcontractor plans and safety standards.
  • Record, investigate, and follow-up/track incidents to determine cause and to handle workers’ compensation claims.
  • Maintain leading and lagging indicators and other metrics for the GPH Ispat New Plant that can be used to support safety, safe practices, and employee engagement in general.
  • Perform environmental inspections to assess the environmental compliance.
  • Respond to inquiries or complaints of any employees and stakeholders regarding EHS practices and operations.
  • Participate in evaluating new methods to minimize environmental impact (waste minimization, water and energy conservation, and other measures).
  • Support for relevant environmental regulatory information in support of action planning.
  • Assist to internal and external auditors during environmental audits.
  • Ensure proper notification of all environmental incidents.
  • Monthly report preparation and communication to EHS Manager.
