  • Able to speak & understand the Rohingya/Chlttagonian Language.

Responsibilities & Context

Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application for the position of Officer-Facility Maintenance from the potential Bangladeshi nationals for implementing ‘‘Education and Protection for Refugee Children (EPRC) Project’’ funded by UNHCR located at Ukhiya & Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.·

Key areas of Responsibility:

  • Assess the facilities with the joint monitoring with Centre managers to determine the needful work.
  • Provide overall technical assistance to project’s construction/repair/maintenance works, from their planning to their implementation and monitoring.
  • Responsible to ensure the repair and maintenance of the facilities, planning the needful and oversee the work.·
  • The officer will be responsible for supervising the effective functioning of the solar system and assessing the outcomes and needful requirements.
  • Responsible to ensure effective quality control are in place to ensure a quality and sustainable repair and maintenance work.
  • Ensure all technical inputs and cost estimates related to the construction components are accurate, timely provided and included in the project proposals and budgets.·
  • Support the procurement committee in all tender exercises for the procurement of construction related services and supplies.
  • Take responsibility for overall progress and use of resources.
  • Identify and manage risks and initiate corrective action where necessary, so that maximum benefit to CODEC is achieved.
  • Provide weekly construction progress monitoring report to the supervisor which is acknowledged and verified by the Civil Engineer.
  • Prepare interim – final project and handover reports and maintain the relevant project records.
  • Responsible to carry out any other assignment as directed by the Management.

Safegurding and PSEA:

  • S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy.
  • Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse – PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation.
  • Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
