Responsibilities & Context

Job Context: Basic Power Engineering Limited (BPEL) is a substation manufacturer company since 2007. The company has its own manufacturing plant at Tongi, Gazipur. We supply, install, test, commission as Trunkey basis Sub Station, Busbar Trunkey System (BBT), Generator, LPS & Solar system. We are also capable on designing, supplying, installing, testing, commissioning of LV & MV electrical system.

Job Description/Responsibility:

The Head of Factory Operations at an electrical equipment manufacturing engineering company is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process, from production planning to quality control, staff management, ensuring the factory operates efficiently, safely, and within budget, while meeting quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown of the key responsibilities:

Production and Operations:

• Planning and Scheduling: Developing production plans, schedules, and resource allocation to meet customer demands, and smooth executions of sales orders.
• Process Improvement: Identifying areas for optimization and implementing lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Inventory Management: Managing inventory levels, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and minimizing waste.
• Quality Control: Implementing and enforcing quality control procedures to ensure products meet specifications.
• Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards, including regular inspections and training.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Working with other departments, such as engineering, sales, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment on production objectives.
• Supplier Management: Collaborating with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Communication: Communicating effectively with all stakeholders, including management, staff, and customers.

Financial and Business (Contribution to Business and Infrastructures Development):

• Budget Management: Preparing and managing the factory budget, including cost analysis and resource allocation.
• Continuous Improvement: Implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall factory performance.
• Planning & Monitoring: Incumbent should be capable to make adequate plans and monitor the required development including infrastructure of the factory.

Staff Management:

• Leadership and Motivation: Leading, motivating, and mentoring factory staff, fostering a positive work environment.
• Performance Management: Evaluating performance, providing feedback, and developing staff to improve skills and productivity.
• Staff Development: Developing and implementing training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
