Responsibilities & Context

Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar based

1. Clinical Responsibilities

~Conduct Eye Examinations : Perform vision tests and eye exams to evaluate visual acuity, color vision, light reflex and detect eye abnormalities by using diagnostic equipment.

~Diagnose Vision Problems and Eye Diseases : Identify conditions such as myopia, hypermetropia, presbyopia, astigmatism, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy etc. and provide effective treatment accordingly.

~Prescribe Corrective Lenses : Provide prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses .Adjust prescriptions based on patient needs and test results.

~Provide Pre- and Post-operative Care : Manage patients undergoing eye surgeries such as LASIK or cataract removal in coordination with ophthalmologist.

2.Patient Management:

~Educate Patients : Advise on eye health, vision care, and preventive measures (e.g., screen time habits, nutrition).

~Develop Treatment Plans : Prescribe medications or vision therapy to manage certain eye conditions.

~Maintain Patient Records : Document examination results, diagnoses, treatment plans, and prescriptions accurately.

3.Operational & Administrative Duties:

~Use Diagnostic Equipment : Operate tools like auto-refractometer, retinoscopes, slit lamps, and tonometers,

~Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals : Monitor and manage chronic eye diseases and refer to ophthalmologists for surgical or advanced medical care.

~Inventory & Equipment Management : Ensure diagnostic tools, lenses, and office supplies are well-maintained and stocked.

4.Continuing Education to Stay Updated:

Participate in workshops, training to keep up with new treatments & technologies.
