Education
- Required Nursing, Midwifery or DMF Medical Assistant degree with valid and Up dated registration number.
Experience
- Essential minimum 2 years of experience in nursing or Midwifery or Medical Assistant position.
- Preferable working experience with MSF. Desirable NGO experience.
- Desirable experience in supervising and training others in à team setting.
Language
- Essential: Fluent in English and Bangla.
- Preferable: Chittagionan language.
Knowledge
- Microsoft word, excel and internet intermediate level.
Responsibilities & Context
• Assisting the Nurse Activity Manager in assessing the patient support needs, defining the patient support strategy according to the changing medical needs and context and developing patient support tools (counselling/education protocols, health promotion messages, etc.)
• Ensuring monitoring and evaluating the implementation of patient support activities according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures
• Ensuring good communication and collaboration with the other components of the project and other partners working on patient support
• Supervising and supporting the staff under his/her responsibility, planning and organizing their work
• In close collaboration with the HR department, supervising the associated HR processes (recruitment, training, induction, evaluation, potential detection, coaching, development and internal communication) in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required.
• Ensuring data collection and analysis of patient support activities (collecting reports of patient support staff, summarizing reports, etc.)
Context Specific Accountabilities
• In collaboration with the referral Medical Doctor, focal point Nursing Activity Manager and Medical Activity Manager facilitate and organize the patient support activities before, during and after patient referral.
• Act as patient support focal point around the hospital, maintaining communication between staff and their managers (In Patient Department, Out Patient Department, Maternity and Mental Health)
• Monitor patient care activities like nursing procedures, patient care in Emergency Room, In Patient Department, Out Patient Department, Maternity, Infection Prevention and Control, waste management, patient flow, bed management and being present in the morning meeting if there is any issue and to give feedback to the responsible supervisor and manager.
• During night shifts and weekends, act as a Security Focal Point in any authority of security related issues, and inform/call in the Project Coordinator as needed. The related cases can include but are not limited to:
• Meeting authorities (with any enquiries) visiting the hospital
• Confrontations between hospital staff and outsiders (e.g. watchmen facing challenges with possible visitors/caretakers at the gates)
• Any disputes at the hospital compound, e.g. between patients/caretakers
• Ensure collaboration with logistic team for movement management during patient referrals.
• Advocate for patient support challenges and needs, follow line of communication.
• Gather relevant data and compile activity reports of patient referral.
• Ensure close collaboration with the referral Nursing Team Supervisor and Referral Nurse for patient information, to track the progress and present to the Hospital Management Team.
• Visit the registered Camp in Charge office, camp Medical Team Leader to get the approval for referrals
• Act as transfer nurse in case of necessity, maintaining close collaboration with referral Nursing Team Supervisor to ensure proper patient transfer and give feedback.
• Ensure proper counselling of patient and patient caretaker before patient referral, ensure that proper caretaker is attending and supporting them in transportation from In Patient Department, Out Patient Department or Maternity.
• Collaboration with nursing team to ensure the ambulance kits, ensure they are properly stocked, and refill them accordingly.
• Report and analyze the referral data.
• Perform any patient support related activities advised by the line manager
• Perform hands on tasks as part of the team and gap fills, if necessary.
Compensation & Other Benefits
Contract and Benefit
Permanent contract. Salary according to level 07 (SEVEN) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 78,000 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.

There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
