Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Merchandising, Fashion Design, Textile, Business, or a related field.

Additional Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandising or sample coordination within the RMG industry.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of fabric construction and garment pattern/design. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with merchandising software.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.

Working Conditions: This role is mainly factory based; may require occasional overtime and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary: The PDC Coordinator is responsible for coordinating between the merchandising team and the Product Development Center (PDC) for specific accounts. This role involves assisting the PDC Planner with sample management, ensuring accurate documentation, and facilitating communication across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample Document Preparation: Ensure each sample requirement is submitted to the PDC with comprehensive documentation, including Tech Packs, Bill of Materials (BOM), customer guidelines, fabric swatches (correct side), trim cards, and any additional information.
  • Sample Coordination: Assist the PDC Planner in compiling and tracking sample requirements, responding to sample requests to ensure timely updates.
  • Material Management: Collaborate with the PDC Planner to facilitate the availability of raw materials and monitor inventory for assigned accounts.
  • Communication: Participate in daily meetings to discuss sample statuses and promptly address any issues; share updates with stakeholders.
  • Live Data Reporting: Help maintain the “Live Data Report” that tracks sample progress and ensure it is accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Fit Sessions: Organize and participate in fit sessions, documenting feedback for review by the PDC Planner and design teams.
  • Final Review and Quality Control: Coordinate all raw material (RM) issues with the PDC and, at the final stage, ensure the sample is reviewed with attention to detail by the PDC merchant. Obtain QC sign-off and provide approval on the sample card before dispatching to the customer.
  • Design Collaboration: Work closely with design teams to ensure that all sample requirements and specifications are effectively communicated and aligned.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized records of sample activities, timelines, and communications.
