Job Context:
Bangladesh is currently facing a severe humanitarian crisis due to extensive flooding in its eastern and southeastern regions, caused by continuous heavy rainfall and huge water coming from upstream neighbouring India. The floods have impacted 3.6 million people across multiple districts. In Feni, nearly 95% of certain Upazilas were inundated. The flooding has severely disrupted essential services, cutting off roads, power supplies, and mobile networks, which has significantly complicated rescue and relief efforts. People in the eastern regions were not accustomed to dealing with floods and lacked experience in protecting themselves. Consequently, rescuing the residents of Feni became a significant challenge. They will now require ongoing health support for an extended period.
Overall Responsibilities:
The Pharmacist will be responsible for managing drugs distribute and store at medical camp following instruction of the Medical Officer for running the remote medical camp effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible to dispense drugs as per prescription of Medical Officers.
- Pharmacist will provide specific and quantity of medicine prescribed by Mos.
- Responsible to maintain stock Register as per specific format supplied.
- Responsible to maintain record of daily dispensed drugs as per daily dispensing register.
- He will receive one month stock of medicine at the onset of camps functioning.
- For each camp he will carry approximate necessary quantity of medicines for each camp.
- At the end of each day he will maintain record of medicines dispensed and maintain stock.
- He will have to clearly describe duration, time, and interval of drugs to be taken.
- Pharmacist will provide injections if prescribed by MO, for female patients may seek help from Pharmacist.
- He will always liaise with MOs for any unclear medication or any other treatment related issues.
- He must communicate with sick patients politely and ask for feedback about drugs dispensed.
- After completion of dispensing medicine, physical stock must have to be maintained and recorded.
- As a team member, the pharmacist will cooperate with other technical team members when necessary.
Working Conditions:
This is a medical service project in a post-flood context with the affected people. It is a one-month mission. The medical camp will run six days in a week from Saturday to Thursday, 08.am to 5pm. The position will be Upazila based in Feni district. In the job, the employee of Pulse BD has to follow strongly safeguarding and PSEA policies and maintain humanitarian principals. This is a contractual job for a one-month contract.
