Responsibilities & Context

• Supervise and manage the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate and oversee the preparation, dispensing and labeling of medications.
• Implement and enforce pharmacy policies, procedures and best practices.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and support personnel.
• Schedule staff shifts and manage workload distribution to ensure adequate coverage.
• Conduct training and professional development programs for pharmacy staff.
• Oversee the procurement, storage, and management of medications and supplies.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and manage stock levels to prevent shortages and overstock.
• Ensure proper storage conditions and handle the disposal of expired or unused medications.
• Provide clinical support to patients regarding their medications, including dosage, side effects and interactions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of medication dispensing and inventory.
• Prepare for and participate in audits and inspections by regulatory agencies.
• Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure the safety and effectiveness of pharmacy services.
• Monitor and report medication errors and adverse drug reactions
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy operations and patient care.
• Manage the pharmacy budget, including cost control and expense management, Analyze financial reports and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement, Initiate for yearly agreement with medicine supplier after meeting with management.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration with healthcare providers, patients, and hospital administration.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care plans.
