Additional Requirements

  •  Essential: Pharmacy Bachelor degree or diploma according to the country of origin of the pharmacist.
  •  Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program or certification preferred.
  •  Essential- Two years, of demonstrated, experience as a Pharmacist/Pharmacy Technician/relevant positions in a Healthcare facility.
  •  Essential Bangla and English language, Chittagonian Dialects is desirable.
  •  Essential computer skills- MS Word, Excel and Internet.

Responsibilities & Context

  •  In cooperation with the Pharmacy Manager/Supervisor, assisting in the supervision, management, and control of the medical stock in the project to avoid ruptures, losses, and gross overstock of drugs and other supplies, and overseeing and monitoring its storage conditions.
  •  In cooperation with the Pharmacy Manager/Supervisor, assisting on a monthly basis with the preparation and approval of order requests, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner to prevent unnecessary orders in between. Following up on drug ruptures.
  •  In cooperation with the Pharmacy Supervisor and other MSF team members, assisting in the supervision, management, follow-up, and control of medical/supply stock in the MSF office, expat houses, and MSF cars. This includes physical count, ordering, and monitoring of expiration dates.
  •  Assisting with the collection of consumption data from facilities on at least a monthly basis and collecting data about the number of patients. Cooperating with and assisting the Pharmacy Manager in all related monthly reports, and under the Pharmacy Manager’s supervision, communicating and providing medical data to relevant MSF team members.
  •  Improving and following up on the monitoring systems in place.
  •  Supporting the MoH counterparts in their responsibilities regarding monitoring of drug consumption, stock management, and preparing/receiving orders.
  •  Performing cleaning and minor maintenance for biomedical equipment used. Following the user manual and protocols and alerting the supervisor in case of malfunction.
  •  Assisting in preparing and organizing training sessions for MSF staff.
  •  Providing program continuity during the supervisor’s absence and handovers; sharing knowledge of the program with incoming staff in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
  • MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
  •  Accurately measure, count, and mix medications according to prescription orders.
  •  Label and package prescriptions with the correct information.
  •  Process prescription requests and refills efficiently.
  •  Provide information about over-the-counter medications and assist customers in locating them.
  •  Manage and organize the pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies.
  •  During the monthly TSR analysis, check for issues such as rupture, pre-rupture, short expiry, and overconsumption, and report findings to the Line Manager.
  •  Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure proper stock levels and expiration dates. Update the departmental template for consumption analysis and communicate any errors to the departmental supervisor for correction according to protocol.
  •  Assist with the disposal of expired or damaged medications.
  •  Enter and update patient information in the pharmacy’s computer system.
  •  Maintain accurate records of all transactions and inventory levels.
  •  Help maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  •  Adhere to all pharmacy laws and regulations.
  •  Follow proper procedures for handling controlled substances.
  •  Ensure that the pharmacy environment meets all health and safety standards.
  •  Contribute as a key member of the EPREP team.
  •  Ensure an adequate weekly supply for the department; promptly notify the supervisor of any discrepancies and correct errors to ensure smooth operations.
  •  Perform weekly cold chain stock analysis and report on cold chain items, sharing the process with the relevant supply team and the Line Manager.
  •  Actively participate in MIR, updating on challenges and potential solutions to enhance pharmacy management.
  •  Complete tasks assigned by the Departmental Supervisor as per the Pharmacy Manager’s recommendations.

Compensation & Other Benefits

Permanent contract. Salary according to level 05 (five) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 56000 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff. There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
