Responsibilities & Context
· Should Have Knowledge about Vacutainer.
· Plan & monitor the team regarding daily collection schedule;
· Draws and collects blood samples according to policy.
· Verifies all related records.
· Matching patient receipt with the prescription before sample collection
· Maintain up to date collection protocols in SOP manuals for specimen collections
· Do the phlebotomy by taking aseptic precaution.
· Draw the blood in appropriate container in correct quantity.
· Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing according to protocol.
· Maintains, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
· Ensures proper disposal of waste material.
· Acknowledgment of samples & maintain the data of the Phlebotomy.
· Ensure patient paperwork is filled out correctly, and necessary information is captured at time of order
· Looking after the overall housekeeping of the sample collection area· Keeping the lab manager informed on customer feedback / complaints· Maintaining confidentiality of information regarding patients.
· Ready Sample for processing at Lab. Maintain relationship with existing customer
. Any other duties assigned by authority.
