Bachelor/Honors
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or Industrial) or relevant field.

Experience

- 5 to 7 years

Additional Requirements

Minimum 5–7 years of experience in plant operations, production, or water treatment management; experience in water bottling or utility sector preferred.
Proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams and large-scale operations.
Strong understanding of water treatment technology, quality standards, and maintenance systems.
Knowledge of supply chain management, sales coordination, and customer relations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

About Uttaran Paani

Uttaran Paani is a social enterprise initiative of Uttaran, a leading grassroots NGO in Bangladesh. Operating in the water-scarce and salinity-affected region of Southwest Bangladesh, Uttaran Paani manages multiple Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification plants that deliver safe, affordable drinking water to underserved communities. Uttaran Paani operates in partnership with 1001fontaines, a French non-profit association whose goal is to ensure everyone can drink safe water and enjoy improved health.

Position Overview

The Plant Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall operation, production, and distribution activities of the water treatment plant. The role ensures efficient plant performance, product quality, safety compliance, and market expansion. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise in water treatment processes, and coordination with production, maintenance, distribution, and marketing teams to achieve business and operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations & Production Management

Lead day-to-day operations of the water treatment plant to ensure continuous and efficient production.
Monitor treatment processes, water quality parameters, and plant output to meet regulatory and internal standards.
Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely repair of equipment.
Maintain records of production, consumption, and wastage for performance analysis.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Ensure all water produced meets national and WHO standards.
Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for plant operations, safety, and hygiene.
Coordinate with quality control teams for regular testing and documentation.
Ensure full compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Distribution & Supply Chain

Plan and manage distribution operations to ensure timely delivery to all outlets and customers.
Oversee vehicle deployment, routing, and logistics efficiency.
Coordinate with field teams to maintain adequate stock levels at distribution points.
Monitor customer satisfaction and address any supply-related issues.

Marketing & Sales Coordination

Collaborate with the marketing and sales team to increase brand visibility and sales volume.
Support the development of local marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
Analyze market feedback and consumer trends to improve product positioning.
Ensure alignment between production capacity and market demand.

Team Leadership & Capacity Building

Supervise and mentor plant, distribution, and marketing teams to achieve operational goals.
Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
Facilitate on-the-job training to improve staff technical and operational skills.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Reporting & Coordination

Prepare periodic operational, financial, and performance reports.
Coordinate closely with finance, procurement, and administrative teams for operational support.
Participate in management meetings to contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
