Responsibilities & Context

BRAC is an international development organization founded in Bangladesh that partners with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty globally to create sustainable opportunities to realize potential.

With the support of The Global Fund, BRAC Health Programme has been implementing TB Control Project for more than three decades in collaboration with National Tuberculosis Control Programme (NTP). BRAC works in a people-centered approach across rural and urban areas of the country with the aim to ensure prevention, early diagnosis and treatment adherence of tuberculosis through community engagement and Public-Private Mix (PPM) activities so that TB related healthcare services can be widely accessible and affordable to every individual.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly work-plan and regular visit to formal and informal healthcare providers in respective area to strengthen referral linkage.
  • Update public and private sector mapping including formal and informal healthcare facilities/ providers in respective area to enhance presumptive and case referral.
  • Ensure TB presumptive referral from the private and public healthcare providers/ facilities.
  • Ensure sample collection and transportation to PPM sites.
  • Ensure registration of all confirmed TB patients referred from public and private sectors in respective area.
  • Increase involvement of informal and traditional healthcare providers in TB care through extensive field visit.
  • Support strengthening and expanding of public-private mix (PPM) approach for TB care and control, in line with the national policy framework.
  • Organize and conduct orientation/ meeting for formal and informal healthcare providers.
  • Prepare monthly/ quarterly reports and submit in due time.
  • Practice and promote organization’s gender policy and support implementation of gender equality and women empowerment at all levels.
  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
