Position Summary:
The Product Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the development of new footwear products from concept to commercialization. This role involves managing the product development process, coordinating with cross-functional teams, ensuring products meet quality and cost targets, and staying aligned with market trends and company goals.
Responsibilities:
Product Development Leadership:
- Lead the product development process for new footwear lines, ensuring timely and efficient execution from concept to final production.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, manufacturing, and marketing teams to create innovative and market-relevant products.
- Manage and mentor a team of product developers and coordinators.
Project Management:
- Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring all milestones are met.
- Coordinate with suppliers, factories, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of samples and final products.
- Conduct regular project meetings to track progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure all products meet the company’s quality standards and comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Work with the Quality Assurance team to conduct testing and validation of new products.
- Address and resolve any quality issues that arise during development.
Cost Management:
- Develop and manage product cost targets in collaboration with the finance and manufacturing teams.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or performance.
- Ensure all products are developed within budget constraints.
Market Analysis and Trend Monitoring:
- Stay informed about market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive products.
- Incorporate market insights into product development strategies to ensure product relevance and competitiveness.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of the product development process, including specifications, test results, and project updates.
