Responsibilities & Context
- Develop production schedules and timelines for handicraft items.
- Coordinate with designers, artisans, and suppliers to ensure the availability of raw materials and resources.
- Plan production processes to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Establish quality standards and guidelines for finished products.
- Implement quality control measures throughout the production process.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with standards.
- Develop and manage production budgets.
- Monitor expenses related to materials, labor, and overhead costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-effective production techniques.
- Lead and manage production teams, including artisans, craftsmen, and production staff.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to ensure the team meets production targets and quality standards.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.
- Oversee inventory levels of raw materials, finished products, and supplies.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely replenishment of inventory.
- Implement new production techniques, technologies, or equipment to improve productivity.
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify trends and areas for optimization.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Implement safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for production staff.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable agreements.
- Prepare production reports, performance metrics, and analysis for management review.
