Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization founded in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer, and Sufi with the aim of social and spiritual development of the entire human community. DAM has been contributing to the betterment of the disadvantaged population through operating 35 institutions and 8 sectors of development. The health and WASH sector is one of the core sectors of DAM which has also been operating 8 institutions and 14 donors funded projects. Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) Health and WASH sector is going to recruit some competent and self-motivated individuals for the position of Program Coordinator for the “Gender-responsive and transformative harm reduction programming for Women Who Use Drugs (WWUD) to support national HIV response in Bangladesh” Project funded by Viiv Health Care and led by Save the Children. Dhaka Ahsania Mission will implement the project interventions in 7 districts of Bangladesh where the Sex Worker Network (SNW) will play a Strategic Partner role in the project.

Job Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with Strategic Partner, CBOs, and other collaborative partners, overseeing the implementation of The ViiV Health Care Funded WWUD Project, managed by DAM;
  • Overseeing the achievement of program results by ensuring that monitoring and oversight mechanisms are implemented in an effective manner;
  • Establishing and maintaining mutually respectful relationships with Strategic Partner, CBO, and other GO/NGO program collaborative development partners within the program areas to facilitate timely and efficient delivery of programs;
  • Contributing to effective coordination related to HIV/SRHR/GBV and gender equality in the working area by being actively involved in key coordination meetings.
  • Providing high level technical support to the program team and partners;
  • Strategic partners & CBOs) when needed, which includes program and outreach management;
  • compliance and conflict management;
  • HR and admin management;
  • capacity building and use of effective data in decision making, strengthening district level coordination, etc.
  • Assessing implications of new policy developments and strategies on program execution, and ensuring their integration.
  • Ensuring effective knowledge management strategies are implemented by the program team, capturing lessons learned and best practices for future planning; addressing training needs of partners and staff;
  • Coordinate and arrange capacity building events under the WWUD, DAM Consortium;
  • Ensure arranging all national level advocacy/coordination meetings and provide TA to DIC/Outlet team in executing the plan similar at the district and community levels;
  • Providing administrative oversight including ensuring awareness and adherence to all organizational/donor policies as applicable;
  • Report to the safeguarding focal person for any allegation or concerns on the violation of the safeguarding policy in relation to project staff, organizational staff, vendors, and volunteers raised;
  • Besides will play a major role in relevant awareness building training/orientation within the teammates and others as necessary as well as will cooperate and support for establishing the safeguarding mechanism with the project;
  • Liaising with the Director, Health & WASH, DAM, DAM Consortium to strengthen PMU Office support to drop-in-centers and staff;
  • Facilitating professional development of staff and promoting their safety and well-being;
  • Performs other assignments as suggested by the supervisor.
