Requirements

Additional Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of progressive and relevant work experience in the development sector especially in Market Systems, Private Sector Engagement with SMEs and/or startups.
  • Good understanding of small growing businesses and impact enterprises, gender lens issues, climate change issues and impact measurement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience related to the private sector, startup ecosystem and entrepreneurship development in the country.
  • Strong network with relevant market actors and capacity to develop effective relationships with various stakeholders including SMEs and startups.
  • Capacity to facilitate and coordinate with project partners (private and public).
  • Working experience and familiarity with the development efforts of international development partners, INGOs, and NGOs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadline-based deliverables.
  • Excellent time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer literacy in MS Office programs (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Google Workplace.
  • Interpersonal skills for representing the firm to external stakeholders and project partners.

JOB CONTEXT:

Truvalu is currently looking for a Program Coordinator – Gender Lens Investing (GLI) with experience in coordinating development projects and activities. Experience of working with Market Systems, Private Sector Engagement and Entrepreneurship/SME Development components within a development project will be an added advantage. Knowledge of business and management consultancy, business development services and gender lens investing will be required.

JOB OBJECTIVES:

The candidate is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening the capacity of selected women-headed SMEs, startups and impact enterprises including women product-centric businesses to develop business skills to increase their capacity to grow and to compete, and become investment-ready for accessing finance in the form of debt or equity through Business Development Services (BDS)/business advisory services. S/he will also be responsible for engaging with potential women-centric SMEs/Startups, understanding their needs, and supporting products and services. This role requires a combination of business acumen, partner management, relationship-building and report-writing skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support overall design and implementation strategy for BDS and provide capacity-building support to enterprises, including investment/financing readiness.
  • Ensure that project activities are planned, organized, and executed in line with project objectives and timelines.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including project beneficiaries, partners, and government agencies.
  • Conduct BDS promotional activities to generate awareness among potential SMEs and startups.
  • Identify relevant SMEs, startups, and impact enterprises across Bangladesh that have a focus on gender inclusiveness and aspire to integrate gender equality in their business operations.
  • Identify and assess the general and customized BDS needs of the SMEs and startups.
  • Track detailed BDS delivery plans for each entrepreneur.
  • Empower the selected SMEs with a comprehensive set of general advisory sessions and customized technical assistance interventions.
  • Assist in data collection and report of BDS evaluation data provided by BDS recipients.
  • Maintain regular communication with the targeted and potential entrepreneurs.
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual progress reports for the programme management, donors, and other stakeholders and provide support in financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with teams within the programme, company, consortium, multiple stakeholders, and partners to discuss activity planning and implementation for better results in the field.

LOCATION: Based in Dhaka, however, travel outside of Dhaka may be required.
