Responsibilities & Context
Job Summary: Manabik Shahajya Sangstha (MSS), a national NGO, is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to serve as the Program Manager (Hospital In-Charge) for its partner hospital in northern Bangladesh. This role requires strong leadership, management skills, and in-depth knowledge of hospital administration. The ideal candidate must be capable of overseeing hospital operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, managing financial and human resources, and enhancing service quality. The position demands the ability to navigate the challenges of the Bangladesh healthcare system while optimizing resources and fostering community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
Operational Management:
- Overseeing Daily Operations: Ensuring the smooth functioning of all departments, from patient care to support services like labs and pharmacies.
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently managing staff, budgets, and medical supplies to optimize service delivery.
- Quality Control: Implementing and monitoring quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations, licensing requirements, and ethical guidelines as per the requirement of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh.
Financial Administration:
- Budgeting: Developing and managing the hospital’s budget, including revenue generation and expense control.
- Financial Reporting: Preparing accurate financial reports for respective hospital authority and management, including hospital boards and regulatory bodies.
- Cost Management: Identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements without compromising quality.
Human Resources Management:
- Staffing: Recruiting, training, and supervising medical and administrative personnel.
- Performance Management: Evaluating staff performance, providing feedback, and promoting professional development.
- Employee Relations: Addressing employee grievances, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
Strategic Planning and Development:
- Strategic Planning: Collaborating with hospital leadership to develop long-term goals and strategic plans for the hospital as well as for the health program.
- Service Development: Identifying community health needs and developing new services or programs to meet those needs.
- Marketing and Public Relations: Promoting the hospital’s services and building positive relationships with the community, stakeholders, and donors.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaboration: Working closely with medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Patient Relations: Addressing patient concerns, ensuring patient satisfaction, and promoting patient-centered care.
- External Relations: Maintaining relationships with government agencies, insurance providers, and other stakeholders.
