Education

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Agriculture

Bachelor’s Degree / Masters or equivalent degree in Agriculture from government-recognized institute/ university.
No 3rd Division/Class or equivalent marks in any examination are admissible.
Diploma in Agriculture is not allowed to apply.

Experience

1 to 3 years

Experience Requirements
1-3 years of working experience In the NGO sector;
Experience can be compromised in case of extraordinary academic record.
Prior experience in projects of same nature and volume;
Experience in preparing training curriculum/module development in the NGO/Agricultural sector;
Experience in preparation and conduction of Outreach Agricultural Education Sessions;
Experience in Agriculture project will be treated with priority;
Additional Job Requirements
Proactive and good team player;
Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
Good interpersonal communication skills and command of English – both spoken and written;
Willing to travel extensively within the project areas and beyond;
Adaptive capacity in different environments and work under pressure;
Physical and mental capability to work at project areas and beyond;
Person having Personal Motorbike with valid driving license will be given privilege.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Location: Khulna District (Any of the Fultala, Terothada or Digholia Upazila)

Job Context:

Khulna Mukti Seba Sangstha (KMSS) being a sub grantee has been implementing “USAID Bangladesh America Maitree Activity (BAMA)” (Strengthening Climate-smart Vegetable and Native Chicken Value Chain in Bangladesh (C4VNCVC) funded by USAID and managed by BRAC. The project duration is from November 2024 to November 2026. The project is been implemented in Three Upazilas (Phultala, Tero-khada & Digholia) of Khulna District. The incumbent will work as a Program Officer Agriculture Value Chain for the project. The project thematic Area is Agriculture and Food Security.

Job Description / Responsibility:

Implement climate-smart vegetable and native chicken value chain activities at the Upazila level. (Lead the Upazila Team)
Provide technical support and training to farmers on sustainable agricultural practices.
Facilitate market linkages for farmers with buyers, wholesalers, and processors.
Directly oversee and manage demonstration plots, ensuring proper implementation and learning outcomes being an agriculturist.
Conduct field demonstrations and organize farmer field schools and other events of the project.
Collaborate with local government and agricultural extension services.
Monitor and evaluate agricultural activities to ensure target achievement.
Promote gender-sensitive and inclusive approaches in agricultural activities.
Document field progress and success stories for reports.
Prepare timely reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) for KMSS, USAID, and BRAC.
Develop success stories to showcase project outcomes.
Ensure compliance with USAID and BRAC reporting requirements.
Undertake additional tasks assigned by the project or organization.

Compensation & Other Benefits

Salary: BDT 55,000 per month. It is noted here that, individual income tax will be deducted per month as per govt. law of Bangladesh.
