Experience:

Skills and Competencies:

Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with community leaders, youth, media representatives, and local authorities.
Organizational skills: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and coordinate effectively across teams.
Media and storytelling skills: Familiarity with media platforms, filmmaking, journalism, or digital storytelling is a plus.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Program Officer for a USAID funded project to be a key player in our mission to promote religious tolerance, combat misinformation, and create peaceful, inclusive communities across Bangladesh.

As part of our energetic team, you will work closely with youth groups, community leaders, media professionals, and local authorities to bring our project’s vision to life. This is a unique opportunity for those with experience in community engagement, media, social cohesion programs, and peace-building activities. Applicants with backgrounds in media studies, film, television studies, or journalism are highly encouraged to apply.

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

Project Implementation:

Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities, such as peace-building workshops, community events, and high-impact summits.
Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, media professionals, youth, government authorities, and CSOs, ensuring the success of project goals.
Ensure that all activities align with the project’s vision of promoting social tolerance and meet timelines and quality benchmarks.

Community and Media Engagement:

Act as the primary liaison with community members, local authorities, and media outlets to promote active participation and ensure strong community buy-in.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including journalists, filmmakers, and youth leaders, to support project outreach.
Facilitate positive, solution-oriented conversations to address any concerns or issues that may arise in the community or media.

Logistical and Event Coordination:

Oversee the logistics for workshops, community engagements, and media-driven events, including coordinating travel, venues, equipment, and materials.
Work closely with team members to ensure the smooth execution of field activities and events.

Documentation and Storytelling:

Partner with the Communication Officer to document and showcase the project’s successes, challenges, and transformative stories.
Use your skills in media, film, or journalism to create compelling narratives that highlight project impacts.
Contribute to progress reports, spotlighting achievements and identifying areas for improvement.

Capacity Building and Training:

Support training initiatives aimed at building the capacity of youth, community leaders, and media professionals to engage in peace-building efforts and counter misinformation.
Inspire and empower youth to take active leadership roles in promoting tolerance through creative platforms like media and storytelling.
