Responsibilities & Context

Job Context

• BAPSA is the implementing partner of Ipas Bangladesh in a project funded by Global Affairs Canada through HealthBridge Foundation in Canada titled ‘Improving Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Dhaka’ to improve availability and access of quality SRHR services particularly family planning, MR and Post-abortion care (PAC) services for poor and ultra-poor women and adolescents living urban areas of greater Dhaka. The project will also work to reduce SGBV by creating awareness among city dwellers. To ensure uninterrupted SRHR services during any public health emergency including COVID-19 pandemic, the project will also work for emergency preparedness and responses. The five-year project will be implemented from now till March 2026 in collaborate with city corporations’ health authorities and their health programs, DGFP and DGHS, BGMEA and other stakeholders and partners.·  Program Officer- GBV for ISRH project of BAPSA is mainly responsible to support for the orientation on GBV/RC (Counselling) of selected UPHCSDP Counsellor & Service providers. Responsible for supporting the capacity of selected NGO outreach workers strengthened to disseminate appropriate and standardized messages to prevent the SGBV even in the time of public health emergencies. S/he will support to conduct formative assessments, integrating user-centered design principles and processes, to identify and develop acceptable approaches for communicating messages on MR, PAC, contraceptive care, and GBV to women, adolescents. S/he will also responsible to monitor the field (inside Dhaka) activities of the out reach workers. This position will be based at Project office at Mohakhali Dhaka. Program Officer- GBV will be supervised by the Program Manager for ISRHR project of BAPSA.

Job Responsibilities·  

• Assist in development of training plan on Gender Based Violence/Reproductive Coercion of selected UPHCSDP Counsellor & Service provider as per timeline of the project workplan.
• Provide support to conduct formative assessments, integrating user-centered design principles and processes, to identify and develop acceptable approaches for communicating messages on GBV to women and adolescents·
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor the dissemination of messages on SGBV services for selected NGO outreach workers·
• Support the project to develop job aids and social behavior change (SBC) materials with appropriate and standardized messages to provide SGBV services·
• Implement social and behavior change strategy that supports for the survivors of gender-based violence·
• Support facility managers and service providers of selected facilities to create an enabling environment for the survivors of SGBV·
• Support for strengthening referral pathways for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).
