Requirements

Education

Master’s degree in social sciences, public health, gender studies, or a related field.
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience may be considered.

Additional Requirements

At least 2-3 years of experience in designing and implementing training programs on GESI, GBV, or related topics. Prior USAID project experiences are encouraged to apply.
Strong understanding of gender equality, social inclusion, and human rights principles.
Experience working with marginalized communities, particularly women and girls.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in written and spoken English and Bangla.
Willingness to travel to project sites in Rajshahi and Rangpur districts.

Responsibilities & Context

Nari Maitree (NM) is a women-led, non-governmental organization started its journey in 1983 and since then it has completed a journey of 40 years with an experience of working in various sectors like Health and nutrition, adolescent and youth, Gender equality and equity , Women empowerment, Child rights, livelihood, Education, water and sanitation, Humanitarian response, Climate change and food security.

Programme Background:

Nari Maitree is going to implement a two years’ long (2024 to 2026) health programme in Rajshahi and Rangpur titled: “Swasthya Maitree ”. The programme’s overall goal is to enhance the health and well-being of marginalized and underserved populations in the urban and peri-urban areas of Rajshahi and Rangpur districts by strengthening community health resilience, promoting sustainable waste management practices, and improving access to TB treatment, control, and awareness. Nari Maitree is implementing the “Swasthya Maitree” project with a sub-grant from BRAC, under the USAID Bangladesh America Maitree Activity (BAMA). Nari Maitree is inviting applications from qualified and committed development professionals for different positions as indicated below. All the positions will have 3 months’ probation period and all are contractual positions and are annually renewable based on funding and performance.

Job location: One for Rajshahi and One for Rangpur

Major Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive training and capacity building plan for project staff, community health workers, and other stakeholders on gender equality and social inclusion (GESI), gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response, and other relevant topics.
Conduct training needs assessments and develop tailored training curricula and materials that are culturally appropriate and context-specific.
Deliver training sessions using participatory and interactive methods, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and skill development.
Provide ongoing mentorship and support to trainees, monitoring their progress and providing guidance on integrating GESI and GBV considerations into their work.
Collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to develop and track GESI-related indicators and assess the impact of training programs.
Contribute to project reporting and documentation, ensuring that GESI and GBV aspects are adequately captured and disseminated.
Stay informed about current research, best practices, and policy developments in the field of GESI and GBV.
Represent Nari Maitree in relevant meetings, workshops, and conferences, promoting the organization’s work and advocating for gender equality and social inclusion.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
