Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline, though backgrounds in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Media, or Community Engagement will be an advantage

Additional Requirements

Experience:

  • Prior experience in community engagement, grassroots activism, or organizing social campaigns is highly preferred, though fresh graduates with a passion for social change are also encouraged to apply.

  • Experience working directly with diverse communities, youth groups, or local leaders is an asset.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to connect with people from different backgrounds and build strong relationships with community members, leaders, and youth.

  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas and motivate others to take part in community activities.

  • Organizational skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate logistics, and ensure timely implementation of field activities.

  • Adaptability: Willingness to travel to various field locations, often in rural or remote areas, and adapt to diverse working environments.

  • Team player: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, local authorities, and community stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness and enthusiasm for fieldwork and community-level activities.

  • A passion for peace-building, social justice, and community empowerment.

  • Familiarity with using basic technology (smartphones, social media, etc.) to document activities is a plus.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary: Films 4 Peace Foundation is seeking four enthusiastic and dedicated Program Organizers to join our team and contribute to a groundbreaking of a USAID funded project aimed at fostering religious tolerance, combating misinformation, and building peaceful and inclusive communities in Bangladesh.

As a Program Organizer, you will be on the front lines, mobilizing youth leaders, community members, and stakeholders to participate in our peace-building workshops, community events, and grassroots campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity for dynamic individuals who are passionate about social change, have strong people skills, and are eager to work directly with communities.

Location: Dhaka, Cox’s Bazar, Brahmanbaria, Cumilla

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

Youth and Community Mobilization:

  • Engage and mobilize youth groups, community leaders, and local influencers to participate in peace-building workshops and community events.

  • Facilitate meaningful dialogue and encourage active involvement from community members in project activities.

  • Build and nurture relationships with local community stakeholders, ensuring strong community ownership of the project’s goals.

Field Coordination:

  • Support the planning and execution of field activities, ensuring that workshops, events, and campaigns are smoothly coordinated.

  • Assist in organizing logistical aspects, including travel arrangements, venue setup, and material distribution, to ensure the success of each event.

  • Collaborate with local authorities, community groups, and the project team to ensure seamless operations in the field.

Participant Engagement and Feedback:

  • Capture valuable feedback from participants during and after workshops, events, and campaigns.

  • Report insights, observations, and feedback to the Project Coordinator, contributing to the continuous improvement of the project.

  • Help document success stories, challenges, and community responses to share with the broader team.

Documentation and Campaign Support:

  • Assist in documenting community-level campaigns and workshops through photos, written reports, and video, ensuring all activities are accurately recorded.

  • Work with the project’s Communication Officer to help disseminate key learnings, outcomes, and success stories.

  • Support the evaluation of community campaigns, helping to assess the impact of the initiatives on fostering peace and social cohesion.
