- Demonstrate positive attitude and sensitivity to support vulnerable and at-risk groups, and communities.
- Strong understanding of gender and diversity issues.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills in English and Bangla and
- Basic computer proficiency: i.e. MS Office, database management, coordination via email, project-specific management information systems, etc.

Responsibilities & Context
About ASD: Action for Social Development (ASD) is a non-government, non-profit and non-political development organization (duly registered with Dept. of Social Service and NGO Affairs Bureau, Government of Bangladesh) established in 1988. The objective of ASD is to facilitate support for the poor, create solidarity among themselves, and build their capacities and bargaining power for realizing their rights and needs to improve their quality of life. ASD has the unique experience of implementing 75 projects in both urban and rural areas on climate change, emergency response, child rights & child protection etc.
ASD is now accepting applications from suitable, experienced, and interested candidates, for the following job vacancies, to work in a counter-trafficking-focused project implemented by Winrock International and supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh. Ashshash: For Men and Women Who Have Escapes Trafficking (Phase II) is implemented across some of the most trafficking-prone areas in Bangladesh, including Cox’s Bazar .
Project Background: The main objective of the project is to ensure that “women and men who have escaped trafficking will restore their dignity and wellbeing and become self-sufficient”. The survivors will be provided psychosocial counseling support along with other social services and facilitated opportunities for skills-devolvement and entrepreneurship training. Subsequently, they will be placed in wage-based and or self-employment opportunities for sustained social and economic reintegration into households, societies, and workplaces. Furthermore, Ashshash will reach people across the working areas either directly or indirectly, through various awareness-raising activities on factors that fuel the vulnerabilities of people toward human trafficking, and to ensure its prevention. The four-year-long second phase of Ashshash will provide comprehensive and personalized packages of social and economic services to human trafficking survivors, and work to raise mass awareness on the issue.
Project Title: Ashshash for Men and Women Who Have Escaped Trafficking
Project Duration: June 2024 – August 2026

Position Summary: The Project Coordinator (PC) will work under the direct oversight of Ashshash’s Awareness and Prevention Partner (APP) across Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Ukhiya, and Teknaf. The PC will lead and manage project activities from the viewpoint of local communities to effectively raise awareness and ensure the prevention of human trafficking. The PC will maintain close-collaboration with Ashshash’s Sustainable Reintegration Partners (SRPs), district-specific governmental institutions, counter-trafficking activist groups and youth groups, and members of at-risk communities. He / She will lead the overall project activities including community empowerment, capacity development of CTIP activists and change-agents, development of awareness materials/content/tools/mediums, and identification and referral of at-risk community members with local services. Accordingly, the PC will demonstrate advocacy initiatives with governmental and non-governmental offices. The PC must ensure compliance with Winrock International’s ‘Code of Conduct’ and ‘Do No Harm Policy’, whilst maintaining privacy and confidentiality of information for each survivor.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and support the Project team and provide professional and technical support to project staff and other relevant stakeholders.
- Complete management of project implementation and activities based on the operational plan to achieve the project’s target within set timelines.
- Confirm that project activities are implemented in a timely manner and comply with donor requirements.
- Day-to-day supervision and monitoring of key activities by the project team and CTIP activists.
- Ensure the project’s visibility through engagements with mainstream media outlets and by using social media platforms.
- Ensure linkage support for communities at-risk of human trafficking to lessen push/pull factors.
- Coordination with other governmental and non-governmental service providing organizations to facilitate services via referrals.
- Prepare quarterly and annual narrative reports, financial reports, and variance reports.
- Develop and implement procurement plans and provide audit responses in a timely and accurate manner.
- Actively provide support to Winrock and donor in conducting periodic monitoring, baseline, mid-line, and final evaluations.
- Attend regular Governmental and other coordination meetings on a regular basis in the working district.
- Organize performance appraisal of staffs as per their job descriptions, and design necessary action plans for staff-capacity development, for implementation.
- Setup files to ensure that all project information are appropriately documented and secured and
- Maintain the confidentiality of project documents and organizational regulations for implementations.
