Project Overview:
THE EARTH is a youth-led NGO. Our goal is to enhance and ensure sustainable development of Bangladesh. We aim to provide knowledge, resources, and care to support each community to reach its maximum potential and achieve greater harmony between people and the planet. The major focus area of The Earth is Youth development through various engagement, skill & entrepreneurship development and engaging youth to become responsive and combat Climate Change.
In collaboration with the Asia Foundation Bangladesh, ‘Green Voices’ project aims to bridge the gap between policy and grassroots innovation by engaging policymakers, development partners, private sector with women and youth in climate action. Inspired by the vision of ‘A World of Three Zeros’—zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero net carbon emissions—this project seeks to foster inclusive, sustainable development through women and youth empowerment in climate action.
Position Overview:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing climate advocacy and green entrepreneurship initiative, which aims to empower women and youth in climate-vulnerable areas. The role involves managing multiple project components, such as policy advocacy, innovation challenges, capacity-building programs and stakeholder engagement. The coordinator will ensure timely delivery, alignment with objectives and effective collaboration with key partners.
Reports To: Lead- Program and Partnership Development
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management & Coordination
- Lead the implementation of project activities across all targeted regions.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines and budgets to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor progress and oversee project deliverables, ensuring alignment with the objectives of gender inclusion and climate resilience.
- Coordinate with field staff, consultants, and external partners for project activities, such as bootcamps, EXPOs and high-level dialogues.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, private sector stakeholders, development partners and community leaders.
- Facilitate consultations with women leaders, youth representatives and local stakeholders to ensure their voices are reflected in project outcomes.
- Policy Advocacy
- Collaborate with the team to develop policy briefs and advocacy materials.
- Facilitate high-level dialogues with policymakers to promote gender-responsive climate policies.
- Innovation & Capacity Building
- Oversee the organization of Innovation Bootcamps, Incubation Support and pilot projects to promote green business models.
- Ensure that women and youth innovators are equipped with the necessary resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities to succeed.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Lead the preparation of project reports, progress updates and impact assessments.
- Document success stories, lessons learned and best practices to inform future project phases.
