Responsibilities & Context

Nature of Job: Project Staff

Job Location: UCEP Head Office, Mirpur 2, Dhaka.

Job PurposeThe ADVANTAGE Project aims to advance gender equality in Bangladesh’s skills development and employment ecosystem. Despite notable economic growth, the country’s labour market remains highly informal and unequal, particularly disadvantaging women, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups. The project seeks to promote gender-transformative change by enhancing the participation of young, disadvantaged women in technical and vocational education and formal employment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Implementation Coordination;

  •  Lead and coordinate all aspects of the project interventions under the approved work plan, ensuring timely and efficient execution of activities across different locations.
  • Organize and manage the Kickoff Orientation, Staff Orientation, and Inception Workshops, ensuring logistical preparedness, content alignment, and team participation.
  • Coordinate the pilot AI-based skilling program, from gender-responsive needs assessment to module development, deployment, and documentation.

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Management;

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Skills Training Providers (STPs)employersgovernment bodies (NSDA, BTEB, BMET), and other key partners.
  • Plan and facilitate employer engagement consultations, roundtables, and alliances, including events recognizing “Gender Champion Employers and STPs”.
  • Support the formation and activation of Women’s Peer Support Groups and Community Gender Champions.

3. Training, Awareness, and Community Mobilization;

  • Oversee the design, planning, and execution of community sensitization campaignsparent/community leader training, and inclusive job fairs to promote women’s participation in TVET and employment.
  • Coordinate social media campaigns, including the design and distribution of IEC materials and billboard advertisements for broader public awareness.
  • Ensure delivery of gender-transformative training and inclusion-focused messaging in all community outreach activities.

4. Government & Policy Collaboration;

  • Liaise with relevant ministries and institutions for joint monitoring visitspolicy dialogues, and advocacy forums focused on improving gender inclusivity in the national TVET framework.
  • Contribute to the development of policy briefs and organize consultation events for their dissemination and stakeholder feedback.

5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting;

  •  Work closely with the M&E team to ensure activity-wise documentation, progress tracking, and reporting based on project indicators and results framework.
  • Collect and analyze data from the AI pilot intervention, ensuring lessons learned are captured for scaling.
  • Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and final project reports, including narrative summaries of outcomes, challenges, and recommendations.

6. Budget & Logistics Oversight;

  • Ensure appropriate planning, utilization, and monitoring of resources for project activities, including procurement of event materials, venue management, and service provider engagement.
  • Support the finance team in managing activity budgets and reconciling event expenditures as per donor compliance.

7. Capacity Building & Team Management

  • Support the capacity development of project staff through orientations and technical assistance.
  • Supervise and mentor field facilitators and event staff, ensuring clarity of roles and adherence to gender-transformative principles.

8. Visibility and Knowledge Sharing

  • Document good practices, success stories, and challenges across project interventions for internal learning and donor communications.
  • Represent the project in relevant forums, networks, and events at local and national levels to promote gender equality in TVET and employment ecosystems.

  • Monthly Consolidated Salary: 42,000/-. TDS (Tax deducted at source) and any other statutory deductions will be applied as per government rules and UCEP policies.
