Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Head to lead and oversee the entire setup, execution and operation of a Foam & Mattress Manufacturing Unit for a largest furniture & Decor Industry. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of foam chemistry, mattress design, production technologies and industrial project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• This role demands leadership in planning, project layout design, machinery selection, process development and managing the full-scale production and commercial launch of foam and mattress products for the Furniture Industry.

Project Execution & Setup:

• Plan and lead the end-to-end establishment of a foam and mattress manufacturing unit (greenfield or expansion).
• Design project layout including foam production, cutting, lamination, quilting and mattress assembly zones.
• Identify and procure required machines (e.g., slabstock foam machines, mattress lines, CNC foam cutters, quilting machines, compression packers).
• Coordinate with civil, electrical and mechanical teams during plant construction.

Production Leadership:

• Develop and implement production processes for foam block production, mattress assembly, and upholstery integration.
• Create SOPs for material handling, safety and quality control across the unit.
• Manage daily production planning, shift schedules, and output tracking.
• Ensure optimal utilization of raw materials (polyols, TDI, springs, fabrics, etc.) and minimize waste.
• Quality & Compliance: Define quality benchmarks for foam density, firmness, recovery, and mattress durability.
• Ensure all products meet international standards (CertiPUR, ISO 19833, CFR 1633).
• Implement and monitor QC protocols, test labs, and customer feedback loops.

Team & Vendor Management:

• Prepare and manage project and operational budgets.
• Implement lean manufacturing and process optimization initiatives to reduce costs and improve throughput.
• Expertise in foam formulation, mattress design and production machinery.
• Strong project management skills from concept to commissioning.
• Knowledge of PU foam chemistry, spring systems, quilting, gluing, and lamination.
• Understanding of comfort and ergonomics in furniture/mattress products.
