Responsibilities & Context

ROJECT: Strengthened and Informative Migration Systems Phase-II (SIMS-II)

REPORTS TO: Executive Director or his nominated official.

BACKGROUND:

Centre for Community Development Assistance (CCDA) is a leading national-level NGO engaged in socio-economic development since 1990, and it has received financial support from PKSF and other financial institutions. CCDA is implementing a project named SIMS Phase-II to ensure safe, orderly, and regular migration for the returnee migrants, migrant workers, potential migrants, and their family members with the funding and technical support of HELVETAS Bangladesh. CCDA invites applications for the vacant position titled- Project Manager for the “Strengthened and Informative Migration Systems Phase-II (SIMS-II)” Project.

The Project Manager will report to the Executive Director or his nominated official of CCDA. S/He has to maintain functional relationships with project teams and the organization’s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The “Project Manager” is responsible for the overall implementation, supervision, and monitoring of the project in the field. His/her following duties and responsibilities are essential, but not limited to:

  • Manage the project with overall responsibility including Planning, implementation, and supervising staffs to achieve the project objectives and results.

  • Oversee all the activities of three components of the project and be the main contact point for the Helvetas SIMS project, government, and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure programme and financial management functions collaboratively and comply with compliance and standards of CCDA and Helvetas.

  • Oversee the development and execution of SIMS project deliverables, lead project planning, monitoring, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes etc.

  • Provide technical advice on labour migration, including access to information, access to justice, and remittances management, as well as on identification and design of innovative procedures that will be tested under the project.

  • Assist the project team and other stakeholders, communicating and driving the strategic vision and goal of the project.

  • Troubleshoot project problems, launch initiatives to reduce operational costs and defects; and identify and implement creative solutions for smooth project management.

  • Prepare and submit periodical / activity reports and financial reports regularly.

  • Ensure quality of the project activities and undertake monitoring and evaluation functions as per plan.

  • Lead the team members and supervise their activities to ensure all the planned activities are delivered properly. Support team members to devise their individual plans and monitor their performance.

  • Respond to all project-related queries during the evaluation of the project and meet the requirements of the relevant donor.

  • Promote GSE (Gender and Social Equity), and maintain the GSE principles and standards in all activities and engagement.

  • Maintain liaison with relevant stakeholders at the national, district, and upazila level (district/ upazila department of youth development, district/ upazila department of women and child affairs, district/ upazila parishad, DEMO, TTC, etc.) and other authorities/agencies working in the migration field.

  • Ensure accurate information updates and contribute project experiences for wider organizational learning, media coverage, and donor events.

  • Represent CCDA and SIMS projects at different public events at the Local and National levels.
