Responsibilities & Context

The PAP (Peoples adaptation plan) project is designed to deliver the anticipated outcomes  ensuring inclusion of pro –poor climate related priorities in the master plans, supporting NbS considering long-term climate threats, informing community-level infrastructure, and facilitating green jobs thus contributing to climate resilience, gender empowerment, and sustainable urban development. The proposed approach of comprehensive mapping of climate risks and vulnerabilities, particularly in the poor informal areas, will help to identify specific climate threats like flooding and heatwaves and lead to the development of a comprehensive, locally led People’s Adaptation Plan (PAP), which will reflect the specific needs of vulnerable groups, especially women and the urban poor. To have oversight

and coordinate strategy and implementation of activities of the GCA funded people’s Adaptation project (PAP) Narayangonj. The post holder must effectively coordinate, focus and communicate the implementation of the project in order to achieve the stated outcomes. The post holder must properly support the facilitation of developing peoples adaptation plan engaging local city corporation, women’s group, sanitation and waste workers, communities and CSO’s. The PM will harness available capacity of organization and improve efficiency in our ways of working to deliver high quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly plans ( both physical and financial) for effective execution of the project activities as stipulated in the project document.
  • Ensure project Monitoring, Reporting and Learning in line with donor complience and Practical Actions organizational requirements, ensuring SMART indicators, regular monitoring, reflection and project strategy review when necessary, communicating changes to relevant staff involved in the program.
  • Support preparation of and review financial reports of program in conjunction with the respective units and team members.
  • Coordinate with expert groups of Practical Action to deliver agreed knowledge outputs for sharing project learning with beneficiaries, partners and to influence policy makers.
  • Develop and strengthening networks of peers and professional contacts outside the organization.
  • Organise meetings, workshops and other information dissemination events with different stakeholders to achieve influencing objectives, in particular on the CRMC approach and evidence generated.
  • Establish or adhere to existing office ways of working to ensure project information is regularly communicated to the Management Team in Bangladesh.People, Budget and Partnership ManagementManage people working in the project to deliver the project outcomes in accordance with the highest standards of safeguarding and inclusive practice.
  • Ensure that project budget from field to the central level is planned effectively and expenditures are made meeting the all compliance and organizational policy/procedures.
  • Maintain relationship with the local, district, and national level stakeholders ensuring that transparency at all levels maintained and project information communicated to relevant stakeholders in timely fashion.
  • Facilitate the team to collect required data to develop PAP.

Knowledge Management

  • Lead the team to prepare and implement knowledge capture and dissemination plan in support of the project objectives.
  • Coordinate with other stakeholders (i.e. government, academia, INGOs, civil society organization and research institutions) to share the project knowledge as well as to encourage them on capturing and disseminating knowledge related to PAP.

Compliance and Feedback

  • Ensure the compliance (i.e. government, donor, organizational policies, procedures and requirement) maintained in each levels of project administration.
  • As a practical Actioners, provide proactive feedback and reporting to Senior Management Team for any internal/external issues around project/organizational reputation as well as any solutions to overcome it.
