  • Master or equivalent degree in Water Resources Engineering / Civil Engineering will get preference.

  • Team management- Ability to work under limited supervision – Dynamism, Good report writing, Presentation & Computer skills, etc.
  • Strong team management skills with the ability to work independently and guide teams under minimal supervision. Dynamism, strong report writing, presentation, and computer skills are essential.
  • Vast knowledge of RO system, Latrine, and WASH block construction.
  • Capable of designing, drawing and estimating BoQ for Water and Sanitation infrastructures independently.
  • Facilitation and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent facilitation and interpersonal communication skills to foster collaboration among stakeholders and field teams.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skill in English.
  • Proficient in writing technical and analytical reports, delivering presentations, and communicating effectively in English with stakeholders.
  • Computer skills (Have strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Water GEMS, GIS, MS Office)Strong technical skills with proficiency in AutoCAD, Water GEMS, GIS, and MS Office for the design and analysis of water distribution networks.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Take the lead in providing expert technical guidance and support for the implementation and maintenance of desalination reverse osmosis (RO) systems, latrines, and the construction and upgrading of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities. This role is essential to ensure that all initiatives meet the highest standards of quality, cost efficiency, sustainability, and effectiveness, all in accordance with UNICEF guidelines and standards.
  • Additionally, spearhead the technical guidance and support for the construction and enhancement of Water Distribution Networks. This includes meticulous oversight to guarantee that all projects are executed with a focus on quality, economic viability, sustainability, and alignment with UNICEF and international standards.
  • Take responsibility for preparing detailed drawings, designs, and Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for various types of WASH infrastructure projects. Collaborate closely with the procurement team to provide necessary support, evaluate technical quotations, and ensure a seamless procurement process.
  • Effective communication and coordination with a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors, local administration, the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE), Local Government Institutions (LGIs), NGOs, and other relevant partners.
  • Facilitate and coordinate donor field visits, ensuring informative and engaging presentations that detail the technical aspects and analytical progress of projects. Choose appropriate areas for visits and provide clear explanations to visitors about the initiatives being undertaken.
  • Prepare a variety of comprehensive reports and presentations related to the construction of desalination reverse osmosis (RO) systems, latrines, and the construction.
  • These documents may cover technical aspects, analytical findings, programmatic visits, and completion reports, which should be shared with the Project Focal point for further review and action.
  • Conduct thorough and consistent follow-up and monitoring activities to ensure that construction works meet quality standards and are implemented smoothly and efficiently. Regularly assess the progress of the desalination reverse osmosis (RO) systems, latrines, and construction.
