Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration or related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in Agro project development, Agro Business management or rural enterprise development.
Proven experience in project planning, budgeting and execution in the agriculture sector.Strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.
Ability to travel frequently to project sites.
Responsibilities & Context
The Project Manager – Agro Business Development, will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing agro-based projects from inception to implementation. This role involves market research, project feasibility assessment, stakeholder engagement, budgeting and overall project management to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for new agro business projects aligned with company goals.
- Conduct market analysis and feasibility studies for agricultural ventures (e.g., crop production, livestock, fisheries or agro-processing).
- Prepare project proposals, budgets and implementation plans.
- Oversee project execution, monitor progress and ensure timely completion within scope and budget.
- Build partnerships with farmers, suppliers, government agencies, NGOs and financial institutions.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Ensure compliance with all agricultural, environmental and labor regulations.
- Report project performance, financial updates and impact assessments to management regularly.
- Lead and supervise project teams to ensure effective coordination and productivity.
