Requirements

Education

Master degree in any discipline, preferable in Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Development, Disaster Risk Management or any other relevant areas. Education can be relaxed for more experienced candidates.

Experience

• 6 to 7 years

Additional Requirements

• A minimum of 6 to 7 years of experience in a managerial role, with at least 3 years focusing on Disaster Risk Management or Climate Change or Development or Emergency Response;
• Substantial experience in collaborating with marginalized communities, including persons with disabilities and their organizations;
• Strong understanding in emergency response,
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills are essential.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and multiple tasks simultaneously.
• An understanding of the practical realities and cultural dimensions of working in the assigned location.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a remote area and challenging environment.
• Ability to manage Risk & opportunity– including identification, mitigation and managing project risks,
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Power point
• Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills, able to work well under pressure both proactively and re-actively and priorities a challenging workload
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent verbal and writing communication skills in English and Bangla Language
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to produce outputs within tight deadlines in a very busy environment.

Responsibilities & Context

***  Job Description:

• Provide management support to the project team to implement the project interventions maintaining a high quality of work;
• Supervise the work of relevant staff as per authority (including the development of Key Performance Objectives, clear work plans, support visits and meetings);
• Support to project teams on successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project;
• Support team in development monitoring plan including clear learning opportunities, knowledge products to be captured during the course of the project implementation;
• Support CDD’s team in putting beneficiary feedback/ accountability mechanism in place, jointly monitor the system in order to allow voices of beneficiaries to be taken into account;
• Provide strategic support on data gathering and analysis in order to assess program implementation progress, outputs and potential outcomes as well as the development of further activities;
• Ensure that reporting deadlines are met by the concerned, ensures the quality of and submission of reports;
• Carry out regular monitoring visits and follow up at the field (30% time at field location);
• Support for documentation of project progress and areas of improvement for the project team;
• Support in the development of future funding proposals as per identified needs and demands
• Manage project budgets, procurement, and resources efficiently, ensuring adherence to donor guidelines and organizational policies;
• Conducts financial and program management & analysis and produce reports and write-ups on short-notice;
• Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including government representatives, civil societies, local government institutions (LGIs), youth groups, NGOs, CBOs, and OPD leaders at union and upazila levels;
• Supporting and advising HQ level team members on their visits and project documentation.

  Safeguarding responsibilities:

• Adhere to CDD’s Children and Adults at Risk Safeguarding policy, ensuring the safety and well-being of all project participants;
• Promote a safe and secure environment for all participants and stakeholders of the project;
• Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and follow the designated reporting procedures.

  Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform any other responsibility/ special duty delegated by project and CDD management.

• The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a not for profit organization established in 1996 to develop a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities. CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports.

• CDD is now recruiting for the mentioned position under the project titled, ‘Promoting regional approaches to inclusive and gender-responsive disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in South and Southeast Asia’ to be implemented with the support of Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB). The duration of the project is till 31st August 2027.
