Requirements

Additional Requirements
- At least 06 years’ experience in the development field with three years in the relevant field (legal aid/access to justice).
- Knowledge and experience on anticipatory action, Legal Aid Services Act, 2000 and Access to Justice.
- Demonstrate very strong leadership and management skills and ability to work in the team.
- Sound knowledge of project cycle management.
- Excellent planning, analytical, organizational and decision-making skills.
- Good working relationships with colleagues, partners, external actors and allies.
- Excellent communication skills including a high level of written and spoken English.
- Conversant in common IT applications (MS word, MS power point, MS excel, Graphic design, Internet browsing & e-mail communications).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities & Context
Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org> is an organization for sustainable development working in the greater Chattogram division since 1985. YPSA is going to implementing a project on “The Ain Shohayota Activity” in Chattogram Division (Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Feni and Rangamati) in partnership with Democracy International. YPSA is inviting application from experienced professionals with proven track records for the following position for the Project.
Duration: 1st September 2024 to 30 April 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coordinate and manage the project through maintaining project cycle management for achieving project objective and expected results.
- Develop project plan & budget and support to develop workshop/training/activity guidelines and reports.
- Maintain linkage with related GO, District Legal Aid Office, Judicial, Pannel Lawyers, Upazila Legal Aid Committee (UZLAC), Union Legal Aid Committee (UPLAC), Indigenous Community Leader and Legal NGO.
- Build the capacity of justice sector actors as Judges, DLAC, UZLAC and UPLAC.
- Provide legal aid services, especially for traditionally vulnerable and marginalized groups.
- Connect remedy seeker to legal aid service provider, support in case assignment, referral and the tracking of case progress.
- Organize training sessions for staff and paralegal activist on legal aid procedures and legal aid service act-2000 and case management.
- Ensure that clients receive timely and effective legal assistance.
- Facilitate different training, meeting, workshop and orientations with legal aid stakeholders.
- Support to form/functional Upazila Legal Aid Committee and Union Legal Aid Committee.
- Monitor and report on the progress of project activities to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Share best practices and learnings with judicial, lawyers and legal actors in different platforms.
- Provide direction and support to project team to ensure the standards of project activities.
- Ensure that the project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donor and the organization.
- Supervise, monitor and evaluate the project, work and performance of staff and take concrete steps to improve job performance.
- Prepare and present regular reports to stakeholders and funding bodies, documenting progress and challenges.
- Maintain child and gender-sensitive approach in all stages and maintain safeguarding measure.
- Any other task assigned by the Management.
