About JSUS: Jugantar Samaj Unnayan Sangstha (JSUS) is a promising flourishing Woman led NGO, significant contributions to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment at Chattogram Division, Bangladesh. JSUS efforts have led to improved access to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and legal protection for women and girls. JSUS plays a vital role in supporting women’s leadership and amplifying women’s voices in decision-making processes, both within their communities and at broader societal levels.

Job Context:Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh was hosting a significant population of Rohingya refugees who had fled violence and persecution in Myanmar since 25th August,2017. The Rohingya refugee crisis is one of the largest and most protracted refugee situations globally. The situation in Cox’s Bazar is complex, and the needs of Rohingya refugees are multifaceted. The education program was just one aspect of the broader humanitarian response aimed at addressing the immediate and long-term needs of the Rohingya population. As part of its efforts, JSUS has been actively involved in the Rohingya Refugee Response Program in Cox’s Bazar, addressing the needs of Rohingya refugees who have fled violence and persecution in Myanmar. JSUS has been closely working with BRAC Pool fund supported by Global Affairs of Canada (GAC) for ensuring access to education for the most vulnerable Refugee Communities.

Role Overview: The Project Manager – Education will play a vital role in coordinating and managing the education-related activities within the Rohingya Refugee Response Program. This role is essential for ensuring that educational support reaches Rohingya children and adolescents in a timely and effective manner, even in emergency situations. The Project Manager will work closely with different stakeholders, including partners, donors, field staff, and communities, to ensure the successful implementation of the education initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Implementation:
  • Develop detailed project plans for education initiatives in the emergency context, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate with the relevant teams to ensure the timely implementation of education projects and activities.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government authorities, local partners, and humanitarian organizations, to ensure a coordinated approach to education in emergency response.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders for effective collaboration and information sharing.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and progress of education projects.
  • Regularly review project data, identify gaps, and propose corrective actions to ensure project objectives are met.

Capacity Building:

  • Identify training needs among the project staff and organize capacity-building sessions to enhance their skills and knowledge in education in emergency settings.

Resource Management:

  • Manage project budgets, procurements, and resources efficiently, ensuring adherence to donor guidelines and organizational policies.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare timely and accurate project reports, capturing achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation for accountability and future reference.

Community Engagement:

  • Work closely with communities to understand their needs and preferences regarding education services.
  • Promote community participation and ownership in project activities.
