Organizational Context and Scope: Bangladesh Nari Sramik Kendra (BNSK) was established in 2009 by the women domestic migrant workers involved in the informal sector to raise and register their voice as human, women and worker. BNSK has got formal registration in 2012 from Department of Women Affairs (JEMBIKKA/DHAK/383/2012). During its 14 years journey it has been working with subscription and local donations from committee members and its friends. To receive foreign donations, BNSK got NGO Bureau registration from NGO AB (Registration No.-3293 dtd 22 May 2022).

Project briefing: Oxfam in Bangladesh is implementing the project Empowering Women Through Civil Society Actors (EWCSA) in Bangladesh, Co Funded by Europe Union to empower marginalized women working in informal and marginalized occupations in Bangladesh, to influence governance and development processes

Project Theme: Under the EWCSA project, AKOTA- ‘Acquiring knowledge on Transformative leadership action (for life and leadership of women domestic workers)’, established AKOTA Women’s Forum and AKOTA Club (Resource Centre) to organize women domestic workers (both in-country and overseas) at the community level to take a leadership role against social discrimination, injustice, and discriminatory laws and policies by developing their capacity on labor law and policies.

We are hiring for the post of “Project Officer” for AKOTA project.

Responsibilities:

  • S/he Will be responsible for implementation of all field level activities in the assigned district and upazilla.
  • S/he will be responsible for ensuring all community level intervention, FF volunteers’ capacity building; Community Mobilization; and activities are implemented according to the work plan.
  • S/he will regularly coordinate with the PC- to ensure M&E Plan implementation, generate KM documents.
  • Supervise the field facilitators for proper and timely implementation of the activities.
  • The Project Officer will submit report inputs to Project Coordinator.
  • Plan and organize the project activity monitoring and documentation to ensure the necessary support for quality implementation of the project.
  • Monitor the progress of the project and recommend the further measures for ensuring progress, share updates with PC.
  • Collect and analyze the monitoring data, and sharing with project management with valid recommendation to address the challenges
  • Ensure documentation on case studies, best practices, field experiences, positive changes in beneficiaries’ lives and other advocacy materials
  • Documentation of significant achievement and gather earnings, challenges, and field experiences to set recommendations
  • Prepare and ensure timely and accurate monitoring, programmatic and periodic reports for the donor
  • Any other tasks assigned by supervisor/ management.
  • Ensure the safety of programme participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, negligence, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme & goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
