Responsibilities & Context
The Association of Voluntary Actions for Society (AVAS) has been working in Bangladesh since 1998, with a vision of fostering an “environment-friendly, gender-sensitive, fair, and self-reliant pluralistic society.” In collaboration with three partners, the AVAS Consortium is launching the CARE for Women (Climate Adaptation and Resilience Empowerment) Project, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), starting on December 1, 2024.This project aims to enhance agricultural services for women farmers in the coastal regions of Bangladesh, focusing on Kalapara Upazila in Patuakhali District and Kaliganj Upazila in Satkhira District. The project will run through November 2026. AVAS is seeking two qualified and dedicated Project Officers one in Kalapara, Patuakhali and one in Kaligonj Satkhira Upazilla to lead the project team and ensure the successful implementation of activities designed to improve agriculture and related services for women farmers in the targeted areas.
Project Officers will oversee and implement field level activities and reporting. They will lead the Union to complete the workplan while ensuring effective coordination with stakeholders, including relevant government departments, local government institutions (LGIs), civil society organizations. Key Responsibilities: Group Formation.Survey and data collection.Assist Field Mobilizes.Activity arrange and implement. Ensure proper participants.Regular field visit communicate with the groups and ensure the group meetings.Data Visual Material Collection.Report and bill voucher submit correctly and timely.Assist to establish CRM in Field level.Regular communication with program management and respond promptly.Program Implementation and CoordinationTake responsibility for the effective implementation of health programs within the assigned union, following planned activities and guidelines.Supervise Field Mobilizes and group members to ensure quality program delivery.Ensure regular group meetingsSupport and oversee Field Mobilizrers in organizing Community Group, Support Group, and agriculture Education and Awareness meetings within the community.Assist in collecting and analysing data related to Agriculture, WASH, Livelihood and other as required. Ensire participation of the target community in capacity building initiatives.Prepare, cross-check, and finalize UP level quality reports, assisting the mobilizers in finalizing them.Document and report all relevant data and field observations to ensure accurate project tracking. Perform any other tasks assigned by the Project Coordinator or AVAS Management.Ensure effective communication with all project and community stakeholders.
