Requirements

Education

  • Hold bachelor’s degree in agriculture, environment, land management, forestry, or a related field.

  • Sound capacity in speaking and writing in the English.
  • Sound skills on computer literacy (MS word, Excel, Power Point and Internet Browsing.
  • Participants need to have a valid passport for international travel (validity at least for two years).
  • Understanding of cultural adaptation between Bangladesh and Cambodia.
  • The participant needs to spend their time for 02 months with AKK after coming back from the exchange program in BCB Cambodia.

Responsibilities & Context

Amra Kaj Kory (AKK) is a Non-government, Non-profit Development Organization which established in January 1985. Its mission is to improve the socio-economic status of rural communities, especially vulnerable groups like women, children, and people with disabilities. AKK actively addresses poverty, illiteracy, and malnutrition, adaptation to climate change, sustainable agriculture, livelihood, and respond during emergencies and advocating for disaster-affected communities’ rights to essential services. Additionally, AKK collaborates with government schemes and donors to enhance community development efforts.

In partnership with the Building Community Voices (BCV) in Cambodia, AKK is seeking two candidates to become Norec Participants who will go to Cambodia for exposure and on-job training under “Introducing Environment Friendly Agriculture to Increase Farm Production” (IEFAIFP) project (the Exchange project).

Duration: 14 months

OVERVIEW:

The overall objective of the exchange project is to increase organizational skills, competencies and capacity on climate change, food security and environmentally friendly agricultural practices. Also, utilizing the organizational capacity to improve target farmer’s knowledge on modern farming systems, particularly increasing farm production and soil fertility management using environment friendly technologies in Bangladesh and Cambodia. In addition, build awareness on climate change issues to take appropriate measures complying with global initiatives. The successful candidates will be involved in the project for 14 months period. Which means he/she needs to work in Cambodia for 12 months and another 2 months in Bangladesh to learn and share new skills, real practice and other culture from AKK and BCV. We will provide the Participants monthly stipend/allowance of USD 825. And we will provide full cover for accommodation, travel and health insurances, and other expenses related to project activities. Additionally, during the Exchange period of one year, you will able to visit your home country one time.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Participant must be determined to work with us for 12 months in Cambodia and 2 more months in Bangladesh with AKK.
  • The Participant must be willing to learn new skills and real practice with different cultures within BCV in Cambodia.
  • Attend compulsory meetings, events and Preparatory Training Course organized by Norec in Kathmandu, Nepal, tentatively during 22-27 September 2024.
  • Write required progress reports for AKK and BCV.
  • Lead to develop manual or guideline that benefit AKK staffs and target farmer resulting from exchange project (e.g., agriculture techniques).
  • Work under supervision of AKK in Bangladesh and BCV in Cambodia.

Compensation & Other Benefits

  • Through the exchange of professional participants, you will get 3 types of benefits as following:
  • Skills and competencies will increase through abroad employment from which they will accrue new working approaches, practices, tools, knowledge, technology, etc. and an opportunity to integrate into home organization. The participants’ creditability will be increased through the exchange program.
  • The organization will get some useful documents like strategies, modules, articles, IEC materials from participants which will make the organization more resourceful.
  • Hosted participants will work with the host target community; therefore, they will learn some new culture, language courses, practices and knowledge to improve their competency.
