Educational Requirements:

·         Bachelor/Master’s degree in law from any reputed university.

Job Summary: Centre for Community Development Assistance (CCDA) is a leading nation level NGO engaged in socio-economic development since 1990 with financial support from PKSF and other financial institutions. CCDA currently is going to implement a project to ensure safe, orderly and regular migration for the returnee migrants, migrant workers, potential migrants and their family members with the funding and technical support of HELVETAS Bangladesh. CCDA invites applications for the vacant position titled- Project Officer (Access to Justice) for “Strengthened and Informative Migration Systems (SIMS)” Project.

Reporting       : Project Officer (Access to Justice) will report to Project Manager. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization’s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization.

Key Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

·         Ensure the justice for the targeted project beneficiaries (returnee migrants, migrant workers and their family members) through coordinating with relevant public and private stakeholders.

·         Formation of Grievance management committees (GMCs) at the union level ensuring the participation of representatives of the different stakeholders at the union level.

·         Sensitization of the GMCs to deal with the grievances filed by the project beneficiaries with the support of upazila coordinators and social mobilizers.

·         Receive, record and process the grievances filed by the project beneficiaries by referring them to the GMC, legal aid service provider or courts as appropriate.

·         Ensure case management maintaining coordination with govt. peers including DEMO, BMET, district judge court etc.

·         Facilitate coordination among the GMCs to be developed at the union level and the established GMCs at the district level.·         Coordinate with other existing projects or organizations in the project locations to ensure proper justice for the complainants.

·         Provide technical supports to the targeted beneficiaries to deal with the litigations.

·         Maintain communication and coordination with agents or sub-agents to ensure proper documentation of the agreements and other formalities.

·         Sort out the existing challenges on the access to justice for the migrant households and present the learning and findings to the national and district level authorities.

·         Maintain coordination with the BMET or DEMO to use the online case management platform for ensuring justice for the complainants.

·         Ensure attainment of compensation or support from the govt. and/or agents by the targeted populations if any unexpected incident happens with the project beneficiaries like death or accident.

·         Maintain liaison with the public and private stakeholders at the union, upazila, district and national level stakeholder to ensure access to justice for the project beneficiaries.

·         Contribute to prepare periodic reports of the project through providing data and information as required by the project manager and project office monitoring.

·         Promote gender and social equity in all project interventions.

·         Adhere to conflict sensitive program management and display conflict-sensitive behavior.
