Responsibilities & Context
Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF), a Non-governmental Organization working for Human Rights and Good Governance, invites applications from Bangladeshi nationals for the position of:
Project Officer (Advocacy & Network) for the “Community-based Resilience, Women’s Empowerment and Action – CREA” Project, funded by the Embassy of Sweden in Bangladesh.
Working Conditions: The position is based in Dhaka, but travel is mandatory to the working areas outside Dhaka. This is a fixed-term contractual position for the project period.
Purpose: The Advocacy and Network Officer will support and oversee the implementation of the CREA project’s advocacy and network activities. S/he will develop advocacy strategies, events/seminars, policy dialogues, campaigns, and network-related activities. S/he will organize meetings, capacity development training, and other events related to the CREA project. This post will require some travel to the working areas. This position will also ensure MJF’s presence and visibility in raising women’s voices in collaboration with relevant government stakeholders, partners, donors, and media houses. This is a Dhaka-based position.
Job Responsibilities
- Organize events, seminars and meetings to ensure that the advocacy plan is active and moving forward;
- Ensure collecting, sharing and dissemination of different initiatives, experiences, learning and good practices both at the field and national levels;
- Identify key short- and long-term opportunities in which we can influence policy processes.
- Assist the teams in the analysis of field data for documentation, decision and action;
- Skills in writing different types of reports and supporting team members for any additional reporting and documentation;
- Lead in gathering evidence through conducting research
- Organizing events, meetings and policy dialogues involving policy-level stakeholders for policy influence on climate change, child marriage and unpaid care work issues
- Developing advocacy strategy based on project focus and making an implementation plan
- Identifying messages for policy influence and communicating communication officer for further dissemination
- Arranging training on advocacy for Gender Equality and Climate Alliance (GECA)
- Prepare the ToR for the research and execution of the planned research/study.
- Any other responsibilities assigned by MJF;
Key Contacts and Relationship
He/she will collaborate closely with the program team (CREA Project) and all other relevant persons, like the Director of Rights & Governance and the Director of Finance & Administration.
Working Conditions: Based in Dhaka, Travel outside the office as required by the office
Compensation & Other Benefits
The total monthly salary will be Tk 48,590, plus a bonus and increment as per organizational policy.
