  • Safeguarding and PSEA:
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programmer’s goals on safeguarding and PSEA implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment. Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Responsibilities & Context

Reportable to: Safe Shelter Manager

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Very important part of the activities of the PSS project which aims at quality of life is providing psychosocial to the women and unprivileged girl. The support implies to the following-
  • Support given to the individual girl or woman survivors through counseling and psychological therapy who has undergone any trauma or bitter experience to heal.
  • Day and night shifting roster duty
  • Support for the children staying in the shelter so that they may experience the illness and the treatment in a realistic and graspable manner, according to age and level of development,
  • Creation of a safe and defined framework where communication is encouraged through externalized and energized thoughts and emotions by parents of those unprivileged girl or woman.
  • Advice on issues such as relationships between family members, handling the change in the adolescent girl’s everyday life (home, school, friends), relationships between the family members staying in the shelter and those “left behind” (husband, siblings),
  • Encouraging the child and its escort to lead an active and social life within the framework of the shelter (volunteer programs),
  • Creating relationships and bonding with other families staying in the shelter House,
  • Preparing the girl or woman mentally and physically for the return home and its assimilation in the social environment.
  • Support to prepare action plan and coordination of a program and its activities
  • Ensure overall implementation of activities as per project direction.
  • Ensure team support to establishment of safe space and safe shelter and tracking out regular activities and monitoring
  • Promote the regular use of knowledge, information and decision making
  • Enable vulnerable groups to become agents of change to achieve psychosocial services
  • Maintain communications with the different stakeholders, public administration maintaining liaison with the GO and relevant development agencies.
  • Build positive relations within the team and external parties
  • Schedule and organize meetings, workshop, training and other events
  • Ensure appropriate message is being used correctly for all operations
  • Psychological support covers the following areas:
  • Frequent contact and interviews with almost all the families and discussions on the problems they face.
  • Individual support to families facing significant problems (with their partner, with the rest of the family, etc.)
  • Group support with meetings for discussion and venting with the social worker and a volunteer psychologist in an effort to defuse and resolve their impasses.
  • Adolescent group. The Social Services department is particularly sensitive and pays special attention to teenagers who constitute a de facto difficult group. Through organized outings (very often with the presence of some popular artist or athlete) to the movies, amusement parks, parks, etc. teenagers are given the opportunity to have fun and retain the characteristics of their age, of which they have been so largely and abruptly deprived.
  • Visits to medical centers and hospitals where the women undergo treatment to maintain contact and psychological support.
  • Catering to the particularly developed religious sentiment of the families is also an important sector. For this reason there is always a member of the clergy available for discussion or to hold religious ceremonies (extreme unction, benedictions, invocations)
  • He/she must be obliged to carry out any sorts of decision taken by management
  • As per the instruction and suggestion of Team Leader she will formulate her own work plan and time to time inform the team leader about the progress.
  • Maintaining material register and ensure transparency in space material handling through stock register.
  • Submit the regular report of the safe space activities.
