Requirements

Education

  • Master of Science (MSc) in Psychology
  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, etc.).
  • An M.Phil. degree or training and experience working with children and adolescents will add significant value to this role.

Experience

    • At least 2 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO

  • Age At most 40 years

Skills & Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in the relevant field, particularly for individuals who have severe mental health conditions, in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities & Context

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual or group counselling for individuals in distress, with mental health conditions or psychosocial disabilities, measuring progress using pre- and post-evaluation tools for their Mental Health recovery.
  • Build the capacity of peer responders and community stakeholders to promote mental health awareness and provide care to targeted communities.
  • Supervise conducting regular courtyard sessions to raise mental health awareness and promotion among target communities.
  • Train teachers in Mental Health First Aid to enable them to provide basic emotional support and referrals to students.
  • Develop training materials both in Bangla & English based on current global context and new academic discoveries.
  • Conduct mental health specific training for the population of all strata (person with disability) as needed.
  • Operationalize community sensitization campaigns (community setting, educational institutions, health care institutions etc.) to promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma & enhance service seeking behavior.
  • Conduct supervision sessions for lay-counselors.
  • Coordinate and sustain working relationship with stakeholders (Govt. representatives, community leaders etc.).
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor all mental health activities to achieve the goals of the project.
  • Assist the project management team with administrative and logistical tasks aligned with the work plan and technical monitoring
  • Assist to organize consultative workshops involving district-level stakeholders and community representatives.
  • Ensure conduct training sessions for local health workers to strengthen knowledge and skills in mental health.
  • Support project focal in other relevant project activities (project planning, assist in finance management, report writing, expense reconciliation report etc.).
  • Regular field visits to pilot sites to develop contextual knowledge of each site, develop relationships with the field team, and provide support as necessary.
  • Organize and celebrate national days related to mental health.

Minor Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the monthly action plan.
  • Prepare a success story of the project each month and send to HO including photos and signed consent forms.
  • Attend various meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Rapport building and collaboration with related stakeholders especially local Government, local NGO’s, etc.
  • Any other task assigned by organization.

Monthly gross salary will be BDT 45,783.
