Job Context
- The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a not for profit organization established in 1996 to develop a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities.
- CDD is one of the most renowned organizations in the field of disability-inclusive development. CDD’s work in Bangladesh is supported by international and national donor agencies/development partners. CDD offers an inclusive, amicable, and respectable work environment.
- The Ramon Magsaysay Award (Asian version of the Noble prize) has been awarded to its Executive Director in 2010. In 2018, CDD was recognized by the Government of Bangladesh as one of the best organizations working on disability and development issues.
- This position will support the project implementation team at the field location. The individual in this role will provide support to the Rehab teams working in the project area. He/ She will work closely with the Therapy assistant and Community mobilizer of the project and will be guided by the Rehab Operation Manager. Moreover, the Psychosocial Counsellor will be responsible for the provision of Psychosocial Counselling services.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct assessment and plan for counseling sessions.
- Conduct individual & Group counseling sessions.
- Conduct motivation sessions with family members of the project participants to improve family support for them.
- Establish & maintain referral linkage with other MHPSS service providers.
- Refer project participants to a Psychiatrist for higher-level management.
- Crisis Intervention: Assess and respond to crises and emergencies such as after-fire incidents.
- Develop case stories and prepare monthly reports with good practice.
- Documentation of case files and other related information about service delivery.
- Organize periodic stress management sessions for other team members of the project.
- Develop different IEC for raising awareness of Mental Health in the community.
- You will also perform additional work according to the project’s need and as being assigned by the CDD authority.
