Responsibilities & Context
Counselling and Mental Health Support:
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to persons living with mental ill-health and their carers.
- Develop and implement appropriate psychosocial interventions tailored to the needs of the beneficiaries.
- Conduct psychological assessments and maintain confidential case records.
- Facilitate peer support groups and other community-based mental health initiatives.
Community Engagement and Awareness:
- Organise and conduct awareness sessions on mental health and wellbeing.
- Work closely with community leaders and stakeholders to reduce stigma associated with mental illness.
- Develop and distribute mental health education materials.
Training and Capacity Building:
- Conduct training sessions for carers, healthcare workers, and community volunteers on psychosocial support strategies.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to field teams in delivering mental health support.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions and mental health interventions.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of psychosocial support activities.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Field Manager in procuring medicines based on prescriptions from psychiatrists.
- Orient community facilitators on the potential side effects of medicines and guide them on how to support persons living with mental illness (PWMI) and their carers in the community.
- Assist both the Project Field Manager and Community Facilitators in successfully conducting mental health camps at Union Parishad levels.
- Conduct counselling sessions for carers when needed and motivate them to adhere to treatment plans and comply with doctors’ advice.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Adhere to CDD’s Children and Adults at Risk Safeguarding policy, ensuring the safety and well-being of all project participants.
- Promote a safe and secure environment for all participants and stakeholders of the project.
- Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and follow the designated reporting procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform any other responsibility/ special duty delegated by project and CDD management.

CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports.

- CDD is accepting application for the mentioned position under a project titled ‘Promoting the sustainability of wellbeing programmes for carers of persons with disabilities and mental health conditions in Savar sub-district and Dinajpur district in Bangladesh’ to be implemented with the support of Carers Worldwide. The duration of the project is till 31st December 2027. The selected candidate will initially be hired for a three-month probationary period. Upon successful completion of this period, his/her employment contract will be renewed on an annual basis.
