At least 2 years of experience in both qualitative and quantitative research is essential.

Minimum Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in fields such as Agriculture, Climate Change, Disaster Management, Environmental Science, Development Studies, or related disciplines.

Experience in areas such as Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, Disaster Management, Community Resilience, Gender, or other climate-related fields will be an advantage.

Peer-reviewed journal publications are a plus.

Advanced proficiency in data analysis software, such as SPSS and R, is required.

Strong analytical, documentation, and writing skills in both Bengali and English are essential.

Ability to work independently under pressure, and to meet deadlines and commitments is necessary.

Job Context:
Job Summary: The Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB) is a leading non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering a just and caring society since 1973. CCDB is currently seeking a Research Officer for its project, “Scholarship Program for Sustainable Climate Actions: Empower Future Leaders” starting in August 2024.The project aims to empower emerging leaders by providing scholarships for training and research focused on sustainable climate actions. The Research Officer will be responsible for managing and supporting various aspects of the project, including reviewing research proposals, preparation of project documentation, and coordination of training and promotional activities. The role involves providing guidance to scholarship recipients, maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, and ensuring the smooth execution and documentation of project activities.
Project Name: Scholarship Program for Sustainable Climate Actions: Empower Future Leaders
Job Responsibilities:

Review and assess research proposals, organize them into thematic categories, summarize their content for analysis·

Prepare documents such as Terms of Reference (ToR) for research, scholarship announcements, and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for university partnerships etc. ensuring requirements and quality·

Provide guidance and assistance to scholarship recipients in preparing and submitting their research proposals, responding to their queries·

Communicate with universities, scholarship holders and relevant authorities regularly·
-
Maintain a well-organized archive for storing research proposals and reports, ensuring that documents are systematically filed and easily accessible·

Organize campaign for scholarship promotion at different universities·
-
Organize trainings, workshop, conference including venue booking, travel arrangement, training materials management, and other admirative works.

Maintain participant registration, maintaining training records, and communicating with attendees regarding training logistics and requirements.

Coordinate logistics such as setting up training rooms, handling equipment needs, catering arrangement, troubleshooting technical issues, and assisting participants with online platforms or training software.

Maintaining accurate records of training activities, including attendance lists, training evaluations, and training-related expenses.

Assist to communicate with different universities and relevant department for partnership development·

In consultation with training facilitating team prepare and conduct pre and post evaluations, to assess the immediate learning results and monitor application of new knowledge and skills, to evaluate changes in behaviors, practices, perceptions, attitudes, values and applications.

Prepare training reports for all the capacity building events that can be shared as well as uploaded in the website, social media etc.

Assist in preparing biannual and annual project updates/reports·

Assist in preparation, monitoring and evaluation of the work plans and activities of the project·

Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
