Responsibilities & Context
The Research Officer will report to the Senior Research Investigator and will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
- Conducting literature reviews, analyze data, and derive scientific conclusions;
- Assist in preparing scientific manuscript for peer-reviewed journals;
- Conduct basic statistical analysis for abstracts and manuscripts;
- Monitor field data collection, and provide regular updates to the supervisor to meet study objectives;
- Regularly summarize and interpret collected data throughout the study;
- Plan, coordinate and manage field activities based on study requirements;
- Supervise GPS data collection, manage GIS datasets and conduct spatial analysis using ArcMap or QGIS;
- Collaborate with the supervisor and team to develop high-quality research reports and presentations for scientific forums;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure quality implementation and contribution to the project and the organization.
Contract Type and Duration: Short-Term Contractual Service Agreement; duration will be 8 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.
